Any information on the name Bohan

Does anyone have information on the name [name_m]Bohan[/name_m]? Thoughts?

I have not found much but NB gives the meaning as “victorious”. I am trying to honor a family member that has a name that means “[name_f]Victory[/name_f] of the people”. I am liking the sound of [name_m]Bohan[/name_m] and I also like the look of the name. The name, for me, brings a feeling of a bit of adventurousness and playfulness with a put-together handsomeness.

Like [name_m]Bowen[/name_m]? Or like [name_m]Bohdan[/name_m] without the ‘d’?

I am pronouncing it like [name_m]Bowen[/name_m], though I could be wrong.

I’ve heard it as a surname and it’s certainly got a lot of the trendy boxes checked.
If you like it I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. [name_m]Bo[/name_m] is a cool nn as well.
He’ll have to spell his name all the time though, as [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] is far more common.

I am not concerned about the spelling issue. My son and I have average, well heard of names and everyone spells my name wrong (and it is 1 syllable) and spells his name wrong and often mispronounces it. I honestly think some people would even try to spell J.D. wrong, is that jaydee, jaidie. :wink:
