My first son is [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_m]Madden[/name_m] ([name_m]Zach[/name_m] for short). The last name also starts with an M.
This time around we don’t know the baby’s gender.
We were thinking of these two names. And I was just wondering what peoples opinions of them are…
Boy - [name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] ([name_m]Cole[/name_m] for short)
Girl - [name_f]Macy[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u]
Any thoughts?
I really like [name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], though I prefer [name_m]Colt[/name_m] for short rather than [name_m]Cole[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Macy[/name_f] but not crazy about [name_u]Ember[/name_u].

I’d maybe be a little concerned about the flow of [name_f]Macy[/name_f] M-surname, but if it’s not something that bothers you then that’s fine!
[name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] nn [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and [name_f]Macy[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] are both perfectly nice names.
I like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]! I’m indifferent towards [name_m]Colton[/name_m], but I guess it works and they go well together. [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Colton[/name_m] would mathc the brother’s name better but maybe that’s just the [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]-fan speaking ;D
[name_f]Macy[/name_f] is nice, but a little “pale” compared to [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]. There are so many names it could be misheard as at first try! I like [name_u]Ember[/name_u], but the more common spelling [name_f]Amber[/name_f] might be a problem.
I like them! You mention that your last name starts with M and if it flows well with [name_f]Macy[/name_f], I think alliteration makes for a memorable name, in a good way. For example, I think [name_f]Macy[/name_f] Murdoch or [name_f]Macy[/name_f] [name_m]McTavish[/name_m] sound lovely but maybe not [name_f]Macy[/name_f] Mayne. I like [name_m]Colton[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] too but if he is going to be called [name_m]Cole[/name_m], I would go straight to [name_m]Cole[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] rather than him having to decide when to use his given name or his nickname. They are both nice name so you should go with what you like!
I like your boy’s name and I think [name_f]Macy[/name_f] is very usable. I am not sure about the flow of [name_u]Ember[/name_u] and agree it might be likely to be misheard/confused a bit. What about:

I know [name_m]Colton[/name_m] doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of love, but I think it’s so handsome!
