Anyone know anything about Myria/Miria?

So my husband loves the name [name_f]Myria[/name_f]/Miria (mee-ree-ah, like [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] without the “m”) and if we ever have another girl, he’s got his heart pretty much set on it. I like the name but I can’t find much information on it. A lot of naming sites don’t list it at all and of the ones that do, the origins and meaning of the name are just kind of all over the place (One site said it was Nordic, while another said it meant “prosperous” in Latin). So if anyone knows anything about the name or has run into/heard of someone named [name_f]Myria[/name_f]/Miria, I would really love hearing what you have to say.

Thanks!
[name_f]Pansy[/name_f]

According to Google translate, Miria means “amazing” in Latin. It’s pronounced meer-ee-uh. It can also be a variant of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].

Thanks, casilda! Never thought to check Google translate.
