Anyone WTC? (Waiting to Conceive)

I know there is a TTC thread and I like to read it sometimes to hear exciting news, but I was wondering if there is anyone else out there like me who is waiting to start TTC? My daughter is almost 14 months old and I’ve started developing a case of baby fever lately. I am thinking about starting sometime in the spring ([name]March[/name]-[name]April[/name]) because I wanted [name]Rowan[/name] to be at least 2 years old when the next baby arrives and hopefully potty trained (difficult I know)

I kind of feel guilty though because my best friend just found out she is pregnant a few weeks ago and I don’t want her to think I’m copying her or trying to take the limelight. But it would also be cool if we were pregnant at the same time and had kids very close in age. I asked my husband a few days ago when he wanted another baby and he said something like “Eh, whenever you’re ready…might as well get it over with” Since we only want 2 kids. I feel the same way. So I guess I’m just looking for an outlet to talk to similar minded people. Are you waiting to conceive? What are your reasons? [name]How[/name] old are your other children?

We’ve been waiting since my son was born almost 28 months ago. We’re probably going to start trying soon. I didn’t want to put my body through back to back pregnancies, and I wanted to be able to really enjoy my sons early years and fully focus on him. I want to be able to do the same (or close to it) with my next child too. There will be at least a 3 year age difference so my son will be in preschool when/if a new baby comes.

Having a two year old and an infant will be challenging, but people do it all the time. It’s all about what works for you and your family. For us, waiting was the right decision.

I am.
Me and my nineteen year old self. Lol

I anxiously await the day I’m ready to be a mother, which is likely in about 6-7 years. It’s a long wait.

My husband and I are waiting. It’s hard, because I have baby fever, and no children yet. But we’re still newlyweds and he’s finishing his last year of college, and I am the sole income at the moment, so it would be a terrible time to bring a child into our lives…we need to be more financially stable first.

Ideally, my husband will have a career position before we start TTC, and at that point I will be able to leave work and finish my degree online. I’m studying aromatherapy and herbal medicine with the goal of opening an apothecary…I want to be self-employed because I feel it’s the best way to be a “stay-at-home mom” for my kids and still bring in income while doing something I love  I also want to homeschool my children, and I don’t [name]EVER[/name] want them in daycare…those aren’t things I can do while still working full-time for the government!

So long story short, there are a number of things that need to happen before we start trying, and I think it will be at least two years…a long wait when all of my friends are having babies now!

I hear you on the baby fever. I don’t have any kids, but if it were up to me I would be pregnant right now. We are waiting, but not by choice. I was on the Depo-Provera shot with my last injection in [name]April[/name] and now I am waiting on my darn cycle to come back and it is driving me crazy! I know they say it could take 9 months to a year. I wish I would have switched methods a long time ago. Having a child would make me the happiest person on [name]Earth[/name].

We are! I’ve got a mad case of baby fever, but our life isn’t ready for a little one. We were hoping to start trying a year from now, but it may be as much as two years. :frowning: Hopefully life goes as planned and we’re able to conceive without any major issues. Sometimes I just want to throw caution to the wind and have one now, and let life adjust, but I know if we wait it will probably go a lot smoother. Sigh.

Waiting on my cycle to get close to on track in the last 6 months only 2 cycles so, hopefully it starts getting its act together. Everywhere I go there are newborns, makes me want one soo bad. Doesn’t help I am a pre-school teacher in a pre-school/daycare.

My cycles were all out of whack when I decided I wanted a baby (due to the Depo shot as well) I would have a period, then not have another one for 3-4 months, and then have a really heavy long one. I did some research and I started taking [name]Evening[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] oil and Chasteberry (Vitex) capsules every day. Within a month, my period was back to normal and we conceived [name]Rowan[/name] in 4 months. I always recommend it to women who are having trouble with their cycles. And it’s all natural, no weird side effects.

I am!
My daughter is almost a year & we will likely wait at least another year…
But I have baby fever! And a husband with a one-and-done state of mind! My dream is a sister for my daughter!!

Thank you @rowangreeneyes. I will check it out!

We are because we’re too young and unprepared (financially and at times emotionally) for a baby even though between the two of us its constant baby fever. He’s leaving for boot camp in 7 months and I’m getting ready to start college so there’s no real money in the bank. Plus if we got pregnant now he’d be 18 when the baby got here and I’d be almost 19. We’re waiting at least another 3-4 years before we start actually trying. Hopefully my pills don’t make the wait longer.
