Apollo or Orion?

Our list changes weekly…and now I’m considering some names on my guilty pleasure list.

I wrote them all down and these two stood out (in a good way) with our last name and our daughter’s name ([name_f]Nova[/name_f]).

My question…are these names too much? Can you realistically see them on a child and an adult? Middle name suggestions? Preferably something more common and classic to balance it out.

Which do you like better?

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_u]Orion[/name_u]

In general I slightly orefer [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], but with [name_f]Nova[/name_f], I think [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is a better fit.
What a cute sibset!

I like both and can see them working on a child. I’ve met an [name_u]Orion[/name_u] and it’s so similar in sound to the popular [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] that I don’t think it will be a problem. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] is less familiar but it has the popular o ending and could be shortened to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].

Both work but I think I prefer [name_u]Orion[/name_u] with [name_f]Nova[/name_f]!

[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]

I like [name_u]Orion[/name_u] much better than [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and think it suits [name_f]Nova[/name_f] well.

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_u]Orion[/name_u] would be such a perfect sibset! And [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is at number 324 on the popularity charts right now and totally usable imo.

[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]

[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_u]Orion[/name_u] sounds great! And I don’t think it’s too out there at all.

[name_m]Apollo[/name_m] is definitely being used so it’s not super ridiculously out there. But I personally think it is too much. I can’t disassociate it with the Greek mythology character. And it seems too macho to me as a result.
I think the fact that [name_u]Orion[/name_u] shares the sounds of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and is tied to the constellation (even though the constellation is after the Greek character) makes the tie to Greek mythology watered down. It is still a strong name without being obnoxiously so or making it seem “God like” the way [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] is in my mind. And I think it sounds great with [name_f]Nova[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is more usable and is a better fit with [name_f]Nova[/name_f].

Seems like [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is the clear winner! I have to say, I like it better, too. It’s definitely useable and I love all the feedback. It’s now on our super short list.

I generally prefer [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], but I like the space connection between [name_u]Orion[/name_u] and [name_f]Nova[/name_f].

I really like [name_u]Orion[/name_u].

I know a little [name_u]Orion[/name_u] and of course there is the skater [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] [name_f]Ono[/name_f], so I think you could use these.

I love both but [name_u]Orion[/name_u] & [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is absolutely great!

I love them both, but I think I prefer [name_u]Orion[/name_u] with [name_f]Nova[/name_f]!

[name_m]Apollo[/name_m] is my favorite by far.

[name_m]Cosimo[/name_m]!

I’ve thought of [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], but I thought that would be [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too much with [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. I don’t want it to be…extremely theme-y.

I feel [name_u]Orion[/name_u] fits our aesthetics without being over the top. [name_m]Just[/name_m] slightly on the line, but not too theme-y.
