I’m relatively close with my fiancé’s two living siblings (his younger sister and older brother) and both of them are… more into names than the general population.
I was on call with his sister recently and I found out that she wants to have four kids someday, specifically two boys and two girls, and name the boys Robin and Rainer and the girls Evrose and Elysia. I did not expect that, especially the girls’ names.
His brother actually has three kids already, and he didn’t exactly create a coherent sibset with them, but they’re all honour names.
Isobel - it’s a tradition in his wife’s family to name your first daughter Elizabeth, but neither of them liked Elizabeth itself. However, they did like Isobel, which is a form of Elizabeth.
Caitlin - both him and his wife liked the name personally despite it being dated, and it’s also an honour name for his late sister Katherine.
William-Michael - The first part of the name is his father-in-law’s name, the second part is his name.
All of their middle names are also honour names for various family members and long-term family friends.
Why did I get stuck with the one who barely knows what a name is? (that’s a joke, I love my fiancé and his lack of strong name opinions means less of my name ideas get vetoed)
