I found the name [name_u]Ara[/name_u] and I fell in love with it. I feel like is encompasses really pretty sounds I like in names, while also sort of following the trends of short girl names. Are there any ideas for middle names that would compliment this as a first name? I thought that I would love to use it as a middle name, but with how short it is it has a tendency to sound like it is a part of the first name (if that makes sense). Need suggestions for middle names for [name_u]Ara[/name_u], or first names that can compliment [name_u]Ara[/name_u] as a middle name without bleeding together too much.
I agree that it works better as a first name! I’d pick a long and feminine middle name. Not sure what your style is like but here are some suggestions:
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]
I know a lady from the Cook Islands named [name_u]Ara[/name_u], it has always sounded rather feminine to me.
Are you pronouncing it [name_f]Air[/name_f]-uh or Are-uh? It kind of reminds me of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] which I pronounced as A (long A sound)-vuh. That would be my only hesitation with the name, but if you don’t care about people mispronouncing it, or having to ask how to pronounce it then go for it! My favorite middle name right now is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I feel like it can be used with many shorter names.
I love so my Ar- names ([name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_m]Aries[/name_m], [name_m]Aro[/name_m]) that of course I quite like [name_u]Ara[/name_u], too. It’s simple, yet strong, and while similar to the likes of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] making it fairly recognisable and easily said and written, it’s also quite different, which I like.
[name_u]Ara[/name_u], I’ve recently found, is also a small constellation in the Milky [name_m]Way[/name_m], which further adds to the appeal for me as I like the Astronomy link there.
As I’m not at all sure of your naming style outside of [name_u]Ara[/name_u], a few random suggestions (it definitely works best as a first, and typically, with a longer middle):
