Arabella Story

It’s my top girls name right now. Thoughts?

I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] (even if the “bell/bella” trend wasn’t super popular). [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is quite popular and trendy and I like that you used [name_u]Story[/name_u] (a favorite of mine) to balance out it’s trendiness. [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t use [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] if your last name starts with an “S” due to unfortunate initials. So even though [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is NMS I still like it’s a very nice name paired with that middle. I also love [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] from your signature

I like it a lot. I am not a fan of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and other -bella names, but I love [name_u]Story[/name_u] (not, totally not because I am a writer). I think it makes a wonderful, romantic middle name. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] reminds me of Arctic Monkeys song.

I love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]! And [name_u]Story[/name_u] really brings out [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]'s whimsical and magical side, and separates it from all the other -[name_f]Bella[/name_f] names. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] very beautiful!

I think the combo is fine. The frilliness of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is balanced by the more unisex word name [name_u]Story[/name_u]. I like the way it sounds and looks.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is my favorite of the [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Bella[/name_f] names! I think it’s rich and classic in its feminine elegance. It’s not trendy. It might be an up and comer, but not trendy. Classic [name_f]Bella[/name_f] names like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] and company have been on trend for years, and vintage ladylike names, particularly of the [name_u]Brit[/name_u] vibe, are decidedly on trend. There is a difference between trendy and on trend in my point of view.

ANYWAY, I’m good with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. I don’t love [name_u]Story[/name_u]. I’d actually prefer the warmth and subtlety of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u], for an authorial name, or something wordy and strong: [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Hero[/name_u], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Haven[/name_u], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]; or a mythological name: [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Nyx[/name_f].

I also like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] from your signature. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is lovely! I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] pairs nicely with [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]/[name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f], too - [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f] are pretty.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is gorgeous. However, the full name I accidentally read as [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]'s [name_u]Story[/name_u], which is not really negative but made me think you posted in the worng forum, first. I’m generally not a big fan of words as names (unless they are established names) and would advise people to put them in the middle spot, [name_u]Story[/name_u] seems better in the first name spot, though.

Thank you all, and thanks for the compliments on names in my signature.

@lemon, I have [name_f]Juno[/name_f] on my long list but never knew what to pair it with, and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is stunning.

I think it’s gorgeous name!!

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] has a beautiful sound, feels elegant, and has a range of wonderful nicknames [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_u]Ara[/name_u], and [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is a lovely name, she sounds majestic with [name_u]Story[/name_u]. I absolutely love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u]

To be honest, the first thing I thought when I saw [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is the phrase “a [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] story”, which turned me off of it, although I do think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is gorgeous and [name_u]Story[/name_u] a fun middle name. I just don’t think they work together well as a combo (and would avoid pairing [name_u]Story[/name_u] with any other -ella first name as well).

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f], though!

I love it. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] feels very fairy tale to me - which is definitely not a bad thing. It’s magical and beautiful.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] was my grandmother’s name and I have always loved it. I think it is beautiful, lyrical and timeless.

Side note -President [name_m]John[/name_m] and [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]'s first child who died at birth was named [name_f]Arabella[/name_f].

Thank you all, I’m gonna keep it as a top name!
