What do we think of this name, berries…I have been having a lot of trouble with girl names lately and this one just came to me.
cons: a bit clunky
pros: awesome meaning, can be shortened to “[name]Cadie[/name]” or “[name]Dia[/name]”

[name]Arcadia[/name] is rather pretty, it always reminds me of the sweet nostalgic experiences I’ve had whilst playing the longest journey series.
([name]One[/name] of the two worlds in those games is called [name]Arcadia[/name]).
It makes me think of the town in [name]CA[/name], or an arcade.
Does have a pretty sound but immediately made me think of arachnids (however that’s spelled)…so a spider reference for me
I like it. I like its association with peace in art and poetry. That makes the name interesting for me. I also like the sound of the name. I love that it is clunky, because I get tired of all the flowy and overly soft girls’ names that are popular right now. Clunky and consonant heavy names can sound beautiful too. They sound strong and substantial.
I don’t know if I would ever use [name]Arcadia[/name] because it does remind me of arcade, and I am not normally a fan of place names.
It’s beautiful! I can’t remember but I have a feeling it might be the name of some magical land from a book I read when I was little. It does have a magical feel to it, very exotic and otherworldly and almost medieval. And so unique- I would love to meet an [name]Arcadia[/name].
I love [name]Arcadia[/name] with the nickname [name]Cadi[/name]. Beautiful!
Moreso than the word arcade, I think of it ([name]Arcadia[/name]) as the name of a fantasy world or place in a video game. I kinda like it, though not as much as Illyria and [name]Astoria[/name], which give me the same vibe.
[name]Arcadia[/name] is a beautiful name. I’m a bit confused about the meaning sated here on nameberry though; [name]Arcadia[/name] was considered a paradise or Utopia, but it’s name came from [name]King[/name] Arcas who ruled the region. Arcas derives from the Greek word arkos which means bear ([name]King[/name] Arcas was the son of [name]Callisto[/name] by [name]Zeus[/name] and later became the constellation [name]Ursa[/name] [name]Minor[/name]).
But again, I love the name and did consider it very strongly for my daughter. I don’t see arcade in it at all, I imagine freedom, forests, hunting parties and the most beautiful nature and bird song (quite the opposite of an arcade really).
It’s lovely and bit familiar.
I love it. With this name, I’m thinking about freedom and adventure. haha. I like the nn [name]Cadie[/name] and [name]Dia[/name], though I slightly prefer Arca or [name]Archie[/name].
Reminds me of an arcade, but is really pretty. When I saw it, I immediately thought [name]Acadia[/name] would be prettier. You could still use the nicknames [name]Cadie[/name], or [name]Dia[/name].
I don’t really like it. It sounds like the National [name]Park[/name] [name]Acadia[/name].
I love this name. Isn’t there a national park named that? Either way, I get definite nature vibes from it. It reminds me of a forest.
I like it ok, but I would probably use [name]Arden[/name] instead! Similar feeling of forest and freedom, not as cumbersome.
I think it’s beautiful! lovely and flowing! and [name]Cadie[/name] is a wondreful nn! I advise you to use it for sure
When i see this name on here on the Nameberry boards, i think its lovely- very pretty and cool with it. However, years ago, before i really embraced my name-nerd side, i met an Acardia and, honestly, i thought it was a bit silly and pretentious. Sorry. I totally get it now, but i’m just telling you my instant reaction to the name in the real world.
