Archer and Beau

Are these names out of the question for brothers?

Yea, I’d think so.
They are stylistically very different on top of the corny bow and arrow connection. So I’d steer clear.

Lol, I didn’t even think of the bow and arrow connection until I read Kala_way’s comment. If it wasn’t for that I would say they sound fine together. I really don’t care if names are stylistically different.

I didn’t notice that either! But it’s a shame because they sound wonderful together anyway.

I didn’t immediately make the connection either. I love [name]Beau[/name]. I think if you did [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Beauregard[/name], and used nicknames [name]Archie[/name] and [name]Beau[/name] or [name]Arch[/name] and [name]Beau[/name], it would be fine.

The archer/bow theme, even if unintended, is way too corny lol.

I agree with this. I actually like them together.

  • [name]Athena[/name]

Ha. I didn’t catch it at first.
For me, yeah, I would avoid it. [name]Both[/name] good names, though.

[name]Archer[/name] and [name]Bow[/name] were the first things I thought of. I think they’re too close unfortunately.

Yeah, I immediately thought of [name]Bow[/name] and [name]Arrow[/name] and [name]Archer[/name]. Too themey, but both great names.

It took a minute to figure out what the problem was. Still, I like the combo and I don’t find it corny. It’s more subtle than naming daughters [name]Rosalie[/name] & [name]Lily[/name] yet most wouldn’t call that corny.

[name]Even[/name] though they sound the same, I don’t associate [name]Bow[/name] with [name]Beau[/name]. I just picture a young man handing a bouquet of flowers to his sweetheart.

I didn’t think about it until I said them out loud. I do think they sound too oddly connected - especially to the less name knowledgable ear.

I think [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Beau[/name] is kinda cool. If you haven’t already used one of them it would make awesome middle names for brothers [name]IMO[/name].

I think it’d be fine & cool! Batter than [name]Bow[/name] & [name]Arrow[/name]. I have a [name]Hunter[/name] with little sister [name]Arrow[/name]. No one’s had any criticism; at least not to our faces.

I wouldn’t use them together. Most people will most likely think of [name]Bow[/name] and [name]Arrow[/name] immediately. I love them seperately, but it’s too themey as a sib set.

I immediately thought [name]Bow[/name] and [name]Arrow[/name]. I like the names, if not for that little issue.

Thanks for all of the feedback! [name]Archer[/name] is and has been my #1 boys name. I’m always falling for new names in the #2 slot.
I love [name]Hugo[/name], DH not so much, I love [name]Jack[/name] but it doesn’t sound very good with our surname, I really like [name]Owen[/name], but it seems too different stylistically with [name]Archer[/name]. I adore [name]Finn[/name], but again, too different, too popular, too something? It’s a never ending story.
Why is it so hard to find another #1 name?!

It took my a while to realise the connection. [name]Just[/name] looking at them they look great together and although it is a little corny, I don’t think many people would question you on it.
