Is your surname a hard or soft G? I think [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] are “natural” brothers - for each other. 🙂 [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] would probably be the best “fit” for [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u]'s brother but if you DH isn’t digging it, then give it a pass. I like the subtle tree connection between [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] so that would be my first pick. [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] end in “an” so that’s not ideal.

When I was pregnant with our third, I loved [name\_m]Theodore[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] but DH didn’t like either of those. With a month to go, I suggested [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m]. Husband agreed but was not sold 100% until we were in the delivery room. Our [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] is two now, we call him [name\_m]Archie[/name\_m] as a nn, (we’ve had a ton of compliments on his name) and DH reluctantly agrees now that it was a great choice!

Good luck!

Our surname is a hard G beginning sounds like great. [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] is my favorite. My husband likes [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] best, he is ok with [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] but doesn’t love it. I think [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] is out.

[name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] sounds best with [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m]; in fact, it truly sounds great.

I went for [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m], I think it has such a nice ring to it, and flows off your tongue! I agree with mischa that if your husband doesn’t love [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m], then maybe don’t go for it. 🙂

I love [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] together! [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] is good too, but I think it’s a little more expected.

Well I had decided I was good with calling him [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] but now my husband is warming to [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] and he can’t decide between the two! It looks like we may have to wait until we meet the little guy.

[name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] is one of my favourite names so I voted for that, but I don’t like it with [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m]. Would you consider [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] or [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m]? You could even do [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] or [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] which I like better- separates the S sounds a bit.

[name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] is a favorite of mine as well but I don’t think we will be choosing it. My husband is not as fond of it as I am and he doesn’t like any of the nicknames I’ve suggested for it. The middle name will definitely be [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] to honor my father in law. Our first son has my father’s name as the middle so we are keeping with that tradition. Thanks for the suggestions!

I voted for [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] before reading the explanation because it’s one of my favorites and we can’t use it with our ln. BUT after reading everything, my vote would be for [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m]. [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] and [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] together just scream trendy to me, although I do adore [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] on a little boy. But because it’s a newly popular name, I think [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] would make it sound trendier than it actually is … if that makes sense. For that reason (and because they sound great together and it’s a great name in general) I vote for [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m]. [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] and [name\_u]Rowan[/name\_u] … perfect, handsome, awesome.

Oof. 3 of my favorite boy names! 🙂 [name\_m]Sebastian[/name\_m] doesn’t sound as good with [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] as the other two. [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m] [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m] [name\_m]Douglass[/name\_m] are both fab! As much as I love [name\_m]Oliver[/name\_m], my vote goes to [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m].
