Archer too similar to Alastair?

I love the name [name_u]Archer[/name_u] with the nickname “Archie”. However, my nephew is named [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they’re too similar in sound?

Only if one of them was already your child!

They only share the first initial which isn’t uncommon at all so I think they are fine. Both are nice names.

Thanks! That seems to be the consensus. I wasn’t sure because my sister’s [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] pronounces his name like A-la-ster and [name_u]Archer[/name_u] has both the A and the er sound. We spend a lot of time together so I wouldn’t want things to get confusing. I appreciate your input!

Completely usable imo.

I was kind of on the fence about whether they were too similar for brothers, so definitely they aren’t too close for cousins!
