Archer?

[name]Hi[/name]!
I am pregnant with my 3rd boy and found out the gender this time thinking it would make choosing a name easier. Well I am due in 7 weeks and still rather undecided about a good name. My eldest is [name]Tait[/name] and my second boy is [name]Leo[/name] and the only name on our shortlist hubby and I both like is [name]Archer[/name]. My question is: is it too long compared to [name]Tait[/name] & [name]Leo[/name] or does it go well with them. I suppose you could say we like short, masculine names but keep coming back to [name]Archer[/name]. (nn would be [name]Archie[/name] and middle name [name]Benjamin[/name]).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I don’t think it’s too long at all. [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Archer[/name] are both 2 syllables. [name]Archer[/name] just has a few more characters. [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] go together very well and [name]Archer[/name] seems to be the same style to me and it’s definitely masculine. Since you keep coming back to this one, I say go for it.

Compared to your other 2 children it will be noticed as different.
Also, the name [name]Archer[/name] is associated with that American animated sitcom FX television series about a deviant spy. Not a good association.

[name]Archer[/name] goes fine to me, except that it seems trendier than your other boys’ names.

[name]Tait[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Archer[/name] looks alright to me, although I think I understand what you are saying with regards to the number of letters.

[name]Archer[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] is very handsome though.

I don’t think it’s that bad, though I can see some problems. Not only is is longer character wise (which alone wouldn’t be a big problem), but I think that PLUS the fact that it is really different stylistically is what makes it “too” different to me. The name alone, however, is extremely gorgeous (especially with [name]Benjamin[/name]) and if that outshines the slight differences than I think you should go for it!

I think [name]Archer[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] is lovely and fits well with your other childre, the only thing I dislike is the nickname - I love [name]Archer[/name] on it’s own - he doesn’t need it shortened to [name]Archie[/name] [name]IMO[/name]
