Archie As a Nickname For Arthur?

Could [name_m]Archie[/name_m] work as a diminutive of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]?

I’m not really a fan of the [name_m]Art[/name_m] or [name_m]Thor[/name_m] nickname options.

I think it works, I actually know a guy named [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] who goes by [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. Also a few weeks ago a genius berry (unfortunately I don’t remember who exactly it was) suggested using [name_m]Hart[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], so maybe you can consider it, too, since you don’t like [name_m]Art[/name_m] and [name_m]Thor[/name_m].

Pair it with a ‘ch’ middle name for a more obvious way to [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Channing[/name_u], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Chase[/name_u]

I agree with lis09!
That way, it’ll be an obvious nickname.

I love [name_m]Archie[/name_m] as a nickname, and I love the name [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! I think it’s fantastic, and works wonderfully!

As a nickname for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] (a lovely choice) I prefer [name_m]Artie[/name_m].
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] is nice as well, I just wouldn’t think that an [name_m]Archie[/name_m] would actually be an [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].

I don’t think it works.

[name_m]Archie[/name_m] works just fine. If [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] can go by [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], if [name_m]Robert[/name_m] can go by [name_m]Bob[/name_m], and if [name_m]Richard[/name_m] can go by [name_m]Dick[/name_m], I believe [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] can go by [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. Nicknames are meant to be fun, so have fun with it! [name_m]Just[/name_m] my two cents!
