So the news is out, the new royal baby is called [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. I’m obviously a huge fan of the name but I’m a bit sad. Is [name_m]Archie[/name_m]’s popularity going to rapidly increase now?
I’m slightly glad they went with just [name_m]Archie[/name_m].
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is perfection imo, and i do see [name_m]Archie[/name_m] going up in the popularity charts. Its already popular in [name_f]England[/name_f] and i expect to increase in popularity in USA as well.
I thought of you when I heard the announcement, @oh.archiekins. Sorry, you must have mixed feelings!
I have to say, [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is already an incredibly popular choice where I am (and I think you’re in the UK too, right?) I would say that [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] and [name_m]Harry[/name_m] are the most popular boys’ names around here already, so I’m not sure whether we’ll see too much of a boost, or whether it might actually put some prospective [name_m]Archie[/name_m] parents off.
I’m a little disappointed in the name myself, I have to admit. Not that [name_m]Archie[/name_m] isn’t a lovely name, but I was hoping for something with a bit more family history or sentimental value. I’m surprised that they haven’t (apparently) honoured anyone besides [name_m]Harry[/name_m] himself with the name; I was expecting to see [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Charles[/name_m] in there somewhere — or even [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] or [name_u]Dorian[/name_u].
I really like [name_m]Archie[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]! I feel like perhaps it shows their personality and the idea that while royal he may have more of a normal path. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]!! It’s a nod to last names as names as well as being totally appropriate.
I adore [name_m]Archie[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]! Very handsome. [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Archie[/name_m] have been on my short list for awhile. I’ve loved [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] since I was a girl.
I really like [name_m]Archie[/name_m], but I’ve had it as a gp for a while because of popularity. But since it’s pretty high anyway and been that way for a while, I’m thinking the new royal might not make a huge difference. I wouldn’t have predicted [name_m]Archie[/name_m] specifically, but it’s more modern, boyish and on trend, which seems to be their style. [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]’s okay, and an interesting honour, but I would’ve expected a classic in the middle. Plus it’s a little two much surname name alongside the double barrel in my opinion.
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is nice enough but very boring - both names are ridiculously popular in the UK. Was hoping for something slightly more unique and interesting!
