Ardsley?

Ardsley is a street name near my house. [name]Ever[/name] since we moved in, I’ve thought it would make a cute name. Anyone ever heard of this as a name before? Thoughts?

Ardsley is also a town in Westchester County, near NYC, so that’s what I immediately thought of. I think it makes a quaint place name, but a somewhat harsh-sounding name for a person.

It sounds awkward and unattractive. [name]Just[/name] because it ends in -ley doesn’t mean it would make a good name.

Not a fan at all. It manages to sound cutesy and harsh all at once.

Not a nice sound for a name, I’d say. Sorry. :frowning:

The spelling is rather cute, but the sound is a bit too harsh for my liking.

Yeah…

I met an Amavely today. Much better. I wanted to ask whether she gave the “e” its own syllable, but I didn’t.

No, Ardsley would make a terrible name.

I agree with what everyone has already said. It sounds kind of harsh and awkward.

I agree with the previous posters, it’s a bit harsh sounding. What about [name]Ansley[/name]? It’s similar, but a bit more polished for a name.

Ardsley is the street I live on. It is not a name at all.

Really horrendous and made up sounding. Trying to have a unique name doesn’t make it a good name.

[name]Just[/name] to clarify, I wasn’t planning on using this as a name. I guess there are too many harsh letter sounds all in a row. I was just curious and throwing something out there =)
