[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Hypothetically, if I were to have two kids (not twins - one after the other) and name them [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] and [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], do you think they would be too similar for a sibset? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it depends on pronunciation and spelling? I would most likely pronounce [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-dreen. If there are other pronunciations and spelling variations for that name, please let me know.
I’m a little unsure on how I would pronounce [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]. Av-leen? Ayv-leen? Ayv-lynn? Av-uh-lynn? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce it? Also, are there any spelling variations for this name?
Thank you in advance!

Yes, I think they are too similar for a sibset. I don’t think the pronunciation or spelling makes much of a difference. I would pronounce [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] the same way you would.

I would pronounce [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] with three syllables: Av-uh-LEEN. It could also be Av-uh-[name_f]LINE[/name_f] (like the word “lie”) or Ayv-uh-lynn, similar to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

I think it could potentially work if you used the names like this: [name_f]Andrine[/name_f], pronounced [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-DREEN, and [name_f]Avalyn[/name_f], pronounced Ayv-uh-lynn. Personally, I still think it’s too close, and I think [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] sound and look better.
That being said, I know siblings that have the same first name, so if you really love them both, do what you want.
