Not sure what or how many I’m having yet, but looking at our lists the next two girl names (we sort of rank them by birth order) and our next boy and next girl names would sound great on twin girls or b/g twins but I’m not sure of the [name_m]Charles[/name_m] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] ([name_u]Mal[/name_u]) combo. WDYT? Are they too mismatched for twins? Our older two kids have Old Testament names, but they fall into the timeless classics category as opposed to [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] work as twins!
To be honest, I do think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is a little wild next to three siblings with timeless classic names. Maybe [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] ‘’[name_u]Mal[/name_u]‘’ or [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] ‘’[name_u]Mal[/name_u]‘’?
Honestly, I don’t think they really go together, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them.
Its an odd combo to be honest… [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is so much more common than [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].
I think they work!!
They sound nice together & have the same general vibe, but aren’t too matchy. Perfect imo!
I think the styles are quite different. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is very British sounding and aristocratic. [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is very biblical.
I think they work fine.
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is a bit different, but its not totally out there…and it is biblical (correct me if I’m wrong?).
Id probably use the nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m], and not [name_u]Mal[/name_u].
I really like [name_m]Mac[/name_m] for [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]! But one of our upcoming girl names is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] called [name_f]Flick[/name_f] and I’ll worried [name_m]Mac[/name_m] and [name_f]Flick[/name_f] are too similar
If it makes a difference our older kids are G@br!3l called G@b3 and R3b3cc@ called Ru3.
[name_m]Mac[/name_m] and [name_f]Flick[/name_f] are cute together! I dont think they’re too similar at all. I also like [name_f]Cece[/name_f] and [name_f]Esty[/name_f]/Itsy as a nn for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].
I think the styles are quite divergent. I could see more a [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_u]Asher[/name_u]; [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_m]Josiah[/name_m];
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], something along those lines.
I think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is a great name, but [name_m]Charles[/name_m] seems like too “common” of a name to go with it, especially if the other older kids have timeless classic names.
I honestly find them stylistically too different, but not unusable.
I think they are definitely usable together, but they do seem very different. To me [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] seems a lot more modern (in style rather than in origin) compared to [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. It’s also a lot less common. I would be a bit concerned about [name_m]Charles[/name_m] feeling jealous that his brother has the “unique” name (or vice versa).
Would it help to know that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a family name?
What about [name_u]Charleston[/name_u] or [name_m]Carlton[/name_m]?
I think that the syllable difference gets me a little bit but it doesn’t bother me too much- both names have meaning and I think they look nice together!
I think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] goes just fine with the older siblings so the fact the [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] aren’t super matchy matchy doesn’t matter at all.
In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] was a family name he might be the one that ended up feeling left out because the other names all fall into a pattern. As it is I really don’t think it’s going to be an issue.
I like both names
