I have two daughters and one on the way. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughters are [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. We like the name [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. But it seems [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are too similar. [name_m]Both[/name_m] Greek, both end with an e and the long “e” sound. Gut reactions? We have other ideas so we don’t have to go with [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
I do think they’re a little too close. I think its because of how similar they look though, because something like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] doesn’t seem as close to me.
No. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is Chloey and my sister’s name is [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], so I don’t think ‘chloe and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]’ are too close at all.
I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] sound beautiful together. Go for it!
I do think that [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] look pretty similar (probably due to the oe in both), as previous poster said. But they don’t sound the same at all, except for the final -e which I don’t think is a problem at all (plenty of sibsets ending in -y or -ie without becoming terribly matchy) so if you love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] the way it looks close-ish to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] shouldn’t stop you from using it! If anything, I think the shared Greek root makes them sound cohesive. The only problem I can see is that [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]'s name would stick out a bit from her sisters since [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] has more of a classic feel than the other two. But I also think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] sound beautiful together. Good luck!
I think yes. The endings are very similar when said together and they look too similar when written.
Not so close that it would be horrible, but too close for comfort, if they were mine. Part of the reason [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is probably attractive to you is that it is so similar to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], in looks and sound. I would go with another choice if your heart isn’t set on [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] look way too similar, especially since you already have another daughter ([name_f]Hannah[/name_f]) that doesn’t have a name like that. I also consider [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] to be very common names, while [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is significantly less popular. So I feel like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] doesn’t fit with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] at all.
I don’t find them too similar and think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] would work well as sisters. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]'s a lovely little dear.
I don’t think so to be honest, to me it just looks and sounds like you’re sticking to a nice theme. [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] would be pushing it but this is fine.
I agree with this. I wouldn’t judge anyone for doing it, but I could never.
I don’t think that they are too close to use.
I think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a great and sounds great with together with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are fine together and I’m a stickler for that sort of thing.
I think they sound really nice together, despite the shared ‘oe’ and matchy endings. It kind of makes [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] the odd one out, but I doubt anyone in real life would notice or care too much. They are all 3 lovely names!
