Are Flora and Lola too similar?

Husband has suggested [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and I really love it. My only concern is that it may be perceived as too similar sounding to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]? I could be just overthinking it, but desperation is certainly kicking in, baby girl can arrive any day now!

They are similar, but not too similar in my opinion. I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f]

The one reason I would stay away is because [name_f]Lola[/name_f] could easily be a nickname for [name_f]Flora[/name_f].

I don’t think too close! I think everyone has a different tolerance for similarity, but I wouldn’t put this in the category of being too similar. I think they are a great sib-set. [name_u]Love[/name_u] them both, by the way.

I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is a stretch. I feel like most people would use the full name [name_f]Flora[/name_f], and that it’s a pretty nickname proof name, unless your family chose some other personal nickname.

I don’t think they’re too similar. As far as sound goes, the only similarity is the -a ending, and there are a lot of siblings out there that share -a ending names. I think [name_f]Flora[/name_f] goes very well with [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

I think they are similar, yes. But I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] together so much that I don’t care.

Congratulations!

(I like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], and absolutely adore [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Oona[/name_f] from your signature btw.)

Thank you all so far. It’s wonderful to know you don’t think [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] that it cannot be used. We both really like it.
