Are Iris and ISIS too similar

[name_m]Will[/name_m] people get [name_f]Iris[/name_f] confused with [name_f]ISIS[/name_f]? Or am I over thinking it?

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is completely safe to use.

I think you’re overthinking. Most people don’t know about the name [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. On the other hand, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is gorgeous and well-known.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a long-established and popular name and I really don’t think anyone is going to associate it with [name_f]ISIS[/name_f]/ISIL.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is gorgeous and honestly I know a girl named [name_f]Isis[/name_f] who is doing just fine for herself.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Isis[/name_f] are very distinct for me. Both very beautiful, it’s a shame that [name_f]Isis[/name_f] has been tainted.

I think it’s fine -not too similar at all

I think you’re overanalysing it, yes. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a well-established name (and commonly known word), and I don’t think she’d run into any issues tarnishing her name.

I think it’s completely fine. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is lovely btw.

You’re overthinking.

And there are plenty of girls and women in the world actually named [name_f]Isis[/name_f] who are doing fine.

[name_f]Isis[/name_f] is too similar to [name_f]ISIS[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is fine.

It’s within the top 100 in the UK, [name_f]France[/name_f], [name_f]Italy[/name_f], Iceland, Slovenia, [name_u]Sweden[/name_u] and Spain. A very familiar and well liked name internationally regardless of any similarity to [name_f]ISIS[/name_f].
