We are considering putting the name [name_f]Neva[/name_f] on our list [DH just adores it], but I think it might be too close to our daughter’s name. DH doesn’t see the problem, so I’m asking you guys.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] when I’m typing this I see that they are also close on paper.
[name_u]Mika[/name_u] is pr. Mee-ka and [name_f]Neva[/name_f] is Nee-va.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys see it too? or is it just me?
And are they just similar or are they too similar?
Thanks for posting the pronunciations because I didn’t get it at first either.
But I would have pronounced [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_f]My[/name_f]-ka not Mee-ka.
I agree and do think that Mee-ka and Nee-va are too close. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Neve[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], or [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]?
First of all, is your avatar [name_f]Aya[/name_f]'s mom from Mad Father? Awesome!
Secondly, I don’t think they are too close. The only things they share in common are two syllables, ending with the letter A, and having a long “ee” sound. “Meek” and “Neev” sound different enough to me that I don’t think a sibling pair named [name_u]Mika[/name_u] and [name_f]Neva[/name_f] would cause me to blink an eye. As long as a (hypothetical) third child didn’t have a name with a pronounced “ee” sound then it should be fine!
