I’m in the US as well, so I’ll just give you a few thoughts on each!

[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
definitely cool, and a little hipster!
I know one older man called [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and one baby boy, and they’re both adorable!
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
I love this name. I don’t know one, but I feel it works for any age (baby, child, teen, etc.)
[name_u]Cruz[/name_u]
see [name_m]Otto[/name_m] (very hipster, but I love it)
I’ve never met one, but I’d love to!
[name_m]Armando[/name_m]
Sounds kind of dated to me.
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m]
I’m not a big fan of this name. Mostly because I know so many Christopher’s, and I feel that it should
only be spelled that way :joy:.
[name_m]Mario[/name_m]
I think of Nintendo, sorry!
[name_m]Eric[/name_m]
Nordic and cute, maybe a little dated, but I know one who goes by [name_m]Ric[/name_m] and he’s cool!
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
Sweet and Traditional. A lovely choice, IMO.
[name_u]Daniel[/name_u]
Kind of a dad name, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. “Danny” is cute!
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
This name is so cute. It may be a little dated to some, all the Gregory’s I’ve met were in their 60’s.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
I love this name. The only [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] I’ve ever met was a sweet and quiet little boy!
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]
Same as [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m]!
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
Maybe a little dated, but I think it’s a sweet name that everyone knows!
[name_m]Randall[/name_m], [name_m]Wayne[/name_m], [name_m]Mark[/name_m], & [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
I’m gonna group these all together. Kind of what I said about [name_u]Daniel[/name_u]. These are all Dad names to me, but they’re still cute!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

@hannahwren Oh no! I meant opinions on [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and [name_m]Ralph[/name_m], those are middle names that I wanted for them :joy::joy:

[name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] to me (also in the US) have grandpa-chic vibes! A bit old-mannish but just enough that they’re cool and are due to come back into fashion!! I’d compare them to maybe [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] for girls, if that helps!

I do think you could liven them up with a more contemporary or classic middle name. I like the idea of [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], or [name_u]Theo[/name_u] from your list! Something like [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Theo[/name_u] would be so cute :yellow_heart:

Maybe dated… Looks like they both peaked in the 1920s and then fell off. So maybe not dated as much as rare at this point. [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] was much more popular at its peak and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] was never very popular. [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] does sound more old man to me and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] sounds very British.

Oh lord :sob::joy: that only took me 30 minutes!

Btw, I love [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]!

[name_m]Ralph[/name_m], yes because the only one I know is in his mid to late 40s. At the same time that recent movie Wreck it [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] probably modernizes it a bit.

[name_m]Rupert[/name_m], no because I don’t think it’s heard of enough in the US to be labeled dated, though may be a different story in the UK (though I have seen a recent UK birth announcement for a Rupert). So I could be wrong on both counts here lol

[name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Armando[/name_m] would be really handsome. And [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] sounds kind of cool

hey! I love a lot of these names! I think Rupert is quite dated, I can’t imagine on a teenager or someone in their mid-30s. Ralph not as much, it sounds a little vintage but I think would work better if it was short for a longer name. My middle name favorites are Kristopher, Taylor, and Sebastian.

Again; all I asked if [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] or if [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] is dated, and was just giving you guys family names to use a mns, not opinions on them. I even edited to make it more clear. Sorry if this sounds rude, I don’t mean to but anxiety and panic attack is on an all time high rn. So please, read my other comment, I even said to another user.

The only ones I consider dated are:
[name_m]Ralph[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Randall[/name_m]
[name_m]Wayne[/name_m]
[name_m]Mark[/name_m]
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]: This one I’m less sure on, it’s on the border between classic/traditional and dated/old-man

@NameLover2020 Thanks, but again; I only asked to make combos with those family names and opinions on [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], and just to make combos w/ the other names, not opinions on them. Sorry if this is rude, this is my third time typing this

For me personally, [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] is easier to picture on a little boy. That may be because it’s never been terribly popular. [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] never has been either, but it sounds a tad harsh to my ears. It’s not a bad name in any way, though, and I could see it coming back; it’s just [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] sounds more “young” to me.

I like:
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] Sebastion
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m]

I would say yes, but not really at the same time. Both have a very vintagey British feel to them, which makes them not seem as dated and fit into the likes of names like Oliver that have come back into use more. But I would say that non name nerds, people who have no idea which names are actually trending or will come back May consider the names dated. But that’s just their perception. I think the names are lovely

I’m just going close this thread. Too many people misread this, once that’s fine, twice after fixing is ok, three times is not ok.

I’m British and they’ve made a comeback here, so I don’t think so. I know of more young Ralphies than Ralphs although I prefer the latter. I much prefer [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] to [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m] is widely used again so I think they both are more than usable.

For middle names, I really like [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u].

Both [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] are in the same vein as all the older names coming back into style today like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

I really like both of them. [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m] or [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] are all great.

[name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] are slightly dated but still usable and both could have a come back soon especially [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]! Though that would disappoint me a bit since I want to use the name [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and I don’t want it to become super popular in the next few years :joy:

[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

I love [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]! Always been on my list since I was little. I do think [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] sounds a little dated but I do like it a lot. [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] doesn’t sound dated to me, but I do think of it as a British name. In [name_u]America[/name_u] where I am, it would maybe seem too British.

From your list, I also love [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], and [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] sounds great to me.

Don’t live in the US but yes, I think they’re dated. If [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] is a family name, there’s nothing stopping you from using it as a middle though. I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] (from your list), and I think they won’t bat an eyelash in the states

Personally, I think the concept of names being dated is, well, dated.

I prefer [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] to [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], but they are both good names.

I like [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m].
