We have a daughter named [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and we are expecting our second baby. We love the name [name]Hattie[/name], but are worried it is too similar sounding to [name]Sadie[/name]. [name]Hattie[/name] is the only name we both really love and agree on. What do you think - are they too similar?
I do think they are a little too similar.
Hmm…they absolutely have a similar vibe, and obviously, they’re both two-syllable names ending in -ie. That said, I think they’re actually quite different. I think it would work!
I think they’re fine together! They are similar, but they aren’t exactly rhymey; they are distinct from each other. I actually think they made a really nice sister pair: same style, same vibe. I think [name]Hattie[/name] is perfect, especially if you both love it and agree on it.
I think [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] are fine for sisters. No more similar than many of those vintagey -ie names ([name]Jennie[/name] and [name]Jessie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Carrie[/name] and [name]Lucie[/name] and such). I think [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] are very cute for sisters.
I think they work really well together, similiar enough in style and feel to be sisters but very distinct in sound and personality…the perfect balance! In fact, the more i think it about it, the more i like it. Have you thought about middles?
I think they are just such a perfect match that it’s making you question it! They are gorgeous together and perfectly matched in style, feel, and sound without being too matchy matchy. [name]Don[/name]‘t overthink it. Each name has such a different personality to it (and will take on your daughters’ personalities as they grow). [name]Sadie[/name] feels more sweet but spunky and fun, and [name]Hattie[/name] feels more pretty but determined and thoughtful. And they work wonderfully together.
We are thinking:
[name]Hattie[/name] [name]Wren[/name] [name]Carys[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name] [name]Mae[/name] [name]Francis[/name]
My Husband doesn’t like “[name]Hattie[/name] [name]Mae[/name]” so I will probably lose the battle on that one.
If the similar “ie” endings doesn’t bother you, I think [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] would be fine together. [name]Both[/name] names have a certain vintage charm so they’re from the same style.
Style wise, they are great together. Personally, I wouldn’t let the ending stop me from using a name I loved. Gorgeous names!
I think they’re great together!
I’m with you – [name]Hattie[/name] [name]Mae[/name] [name]Francis[/name] is so lovely!! [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Carys[/name] aren’t my style and they just seem a little harsh with the soft and beautiful [name]Hattie[/name].
Not sure if you’re looking for more middle ideas, but i was thinking about this while i was cooking dinner so thought i’d add them!
