[name_f]My[/name_f] boyfriend and I have recently been discussing future baby names and one of the few girl names we’ve been able to agree on is [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. I brought this up today to my mom and she asked if I thought it would be too close to my cousin’s daughter’s name. Her name is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. When talking with my boyfriend about it, he said it would be fine, but now that it’s been put in my head I wanted to see what others thought.
We live in the same town as this cousin and don’t plan on moving away before having kids so our future kid will more than likely be spending a lot of time around [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
Nope, I think both are very individual names! To me, that’s like saying [name_u]Maria[/name_u] and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] are too close because of the same -ia ending (and they even have the same letters). They seem pretty distinct to me, so much so as I wouldn’t even think it was weird for sisters to have those names.
Not too close for cousins!
Unless [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] gets called Phia/Fia, I think it’s fine. They’re distinct enough, and both well used enough that it won’t seem like you were trying to be matchy/use the same name
No cousin names are too close
No, even the sounds are very different. The only thing in common is the H.
Not to close for cousins! I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f]! So pretty!
For siblings, probably. For cousins, no way! Go for it with [name_f]Thea[/name_f], sweet name!
Those aren’t too close at all!
Definitely not, I doubt anyone would even notice that they’re similar
It’s definitely fine! [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is lovely!
Cousins, especially second cousins, can share the exact same name and it not be a big deal in my opinion. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] wouldn’t work for sisters, but they’re totally fine for cousins.
For cousins, not too close at all! [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is lovely.
I don’t even think it’s too close for siblings. Totally different names.
Not too close.
Absolutely not too similar, especially not for cousins!
