Are these names boring? Or Classic?

We are having our 4th boy. I think boy names are hard to begin with, and coming up with a 4th name makes it super hard!! Our last name starts with a V, and it is long (3 separate words). No one knows how to spell it or pronounce it. Because of this, we have to stick with names that most know how to spell and pronounce. Other sibs are [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. Here are some names we can both agree on:

Right now my top pick is [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

We also like:

[name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]

Thoughts?

[name_m]John[/name_m] isn’t my style, but [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] sounds adorable together, I also love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]. I think all these names would fit nicely with your boys names, especially [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. To me, these names aren’t boring, I find them classic and very usable.

I think they are nice names! [name_m]Paul[/name_m] and [name_m]John[/name_m] are a bit boring, imo… but [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are two of my favorites! I would prefer [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] or [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] as a first name and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] or [name_m]John[/name_m] in the middle.

[name_m]John[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are both nice names but together I immediately thought of [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] from the daily show. I don’t know if you’re from the states or not but it just kinda turned me off of it. I love love love the name [name_m]Paul[/name_m] though! Or maybe [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] nn [name_u]Nico[/name_u] to make it a little more lively.

I actually have a soft spot for [name_m]Paul[/name_m]. I think it’s a lovely name with a lot of fantastic history and great namesakes.

[name_m]John[/name_m] certainly isn’t exciting, but I don’t think anyone can say it’s a bad name and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] does make it a bit more sparkly, he could always go by Oli or [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] if he wanted to.

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] or [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] are great brothers!

I have been really liking the name [name_m]John[/name_m] lately. [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is great. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is one of my favorite names. I think [name_m]John[/name_m] is a classic name. I don’t find it boring but I’m using [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] for my son due in Feb and some would see that as boring too.

I like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] too. I don’t like [name_m]Paul[/name_m] as a first name but it’s ok as a middle name.

I like these combos:

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

Suggestions:

[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Ross[/name_m] (I like the nn [name_m]Rossi[/name_m])
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Joel[/name_m]
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Davis[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Ruben[/name_m]
[name_m]Aaron[/name_m]

Out of all of these, I think [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_m]Davis[/name_m], and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] go very well with [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m].

I really can relate with boys names & difficult surname… it has been hard enough naming our 3rd son let alone 4th eek  … I really like [name_m]John[/name_m], I haven’t met a baby [name_m]John[/name_m] & feel it’s very versatile. Cute nn [name_m]Johnny[/name_m]. [name_m]Paul[/name_m] I do find a little boring sorry. I love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] & [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]… [name_u]Van[/name_u] der… Would sound great imo. I quite like alliteration with the right names. Another fave of mine is [name_m]Peter[/name_m], love this name (but I cant use it with our surname) .

I love [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. I think your other picks are great too-- I love the name [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] and think [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] would be lovely with [name_u]Van[/name_u] der … I’d definitely say the names are classic rather than boring. [name_m]John[/name_m] is great and unlikely to ever go out of style.

I immediately thought of [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] of the [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Show too, but I think he’s brilliant… also, it’s unlikely that anyone is going to make that connection when his name is said in full (especially a few years from now or when your son is grown), so I wouldn’t worry about it.

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is the name of a British comedian/actor from the show Community and The [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Show. But I don’t know whether he’ll stay in the public consciousness. He’s not that famous even now. I like [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] the best out of these names. I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a bit more interesting. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought if you like [name_m]Paul[/name_m], have you considered the more unusual [name_m]Saul[/name_m]? It’s my nephews name or else it would be on my shortlist! I find it different and refreshing but easy to pronounce. It’s a biblical name so not a new made up name either

I really love all those names and don’t understand how could they be boring.
[name_f]IMO[/name_f] [name_m]Paul[/name_m] fits best brothers’ names but they all are great.

[name_m]Ian[/name_m]? Not too popular, related to [name_m]John[/name_m], and goes with his brothers’ names.

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is handsome, not boring at all! Your other picks are great too, I love [name_m]Paul[/name_m].

I love [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].

All those names are classic to me, can’t go wrong with them.

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is great. I really like [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], too.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]! [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] is also great.

Well, I’ll vote for [name_m]Paul[/name_m]! My oldest son is [name_m]Paul[/name_m] and it’s my all time favorite boys’ name (don’t tell his younger brothers). For me, [name_m]Paul[/name_m] is both friendly and strong. There are lots of great namesakes. Personally I’d avoid [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] if your last name begins with a “V”. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_m]John[/name_m] are both very nice as well.

[name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is great

& BTW [name_m]Saul[/name_m] is a bad guy in the Bible…

[name_m]Adam[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]

[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] and [name_m]Craig[/name_m]
