My husband and I have a hard time agreeing on baby names. I like the name Leighla for a girl but my husband thinks that Leighla would be to close to [name]Lola[/name] ( our good friends little girls name). [name]Do[/name] you think these names are too close? Does it even matter if they are? Thanks!
For sisters, yes. Friends, it’s up to you. If you are comfortable with her having such a similar name
For sisters or even cousins, yeah, it might be a little close… but you’re just friends, right? I don’t think it’s too close for the children of friends, even best friends. If you’re comfortable with it, I see no problem.
Good luck!
I don’t think it’s a problem for friends, but it’s up to you. We have some good friends with a daughter named [name]Evangeline[/name], and our daughter is [name]Eve[/name]. I’m glad we didn’t fuss about it because their job was transferred out of state soon after our girl was born.
If both you and your other half love the name then I would say just go for it. I agree with the others, if it were family I would say it was too close but for friends I think it’s ok
I say go for it but I think [name]Leila[/name] looks prettier spelled that way instead.
I agree with the others, if it’s family or very close friends whom you see several times a week, then it is too close. Otherwise, it’s probably fine. I don’t really like the spelling Leighla, though. I would go with [name]Laila[/name] or [name]Leala[/name], depending on how you want it pronounced. ([name]Lay[/name]-la for the first spelling and lee-la for the latter.)
I don’t think its too close.
You could also spell it,
[name]Leela[/name]
[name]Lela[/name]
[name]Leala[/name]
If you want it to look simpler
I think the spelling should be [name]Leila[/name] as it is the classic spelling, all the others look made up which is not ideal.
I would mention to the friend but it shouldnt be a problem.
rollo
I agree with the others! The simpler spelling is better in my opinion, & as long as you CONSULT with your friend I don’t think it’s a problem at all. It’s even kind of cute if they become friends when they grow up
Honestly I am more concerned about that spelling confusing people. At first I thought it was Leigha until I saw that extra “l” tucked in. Now I am trying to decide if you are spelling [name]Layla[/name] or [name]Leela[/name]…
I forgot to add that you should talk to your friend first. Thanks to the others who mentioned it.
