Are these names to similar?

[name]One[/name] of the names that was recommended to us if this baby is [name]Declan[/name].
My dh likes it and so do I, but we already have a [name]Devon[/name].

Are [name]Devon[/name] and [name]Declan[/name] too close?

*I made a spelling mistake in the tittle ‘Are These Names TOO Similar?’ sorry it was bothering me!

I am not one of the people that gets hung up on matching initials, but assuming these are both FNs, yes, [name]Devon[/name] and [name]Declan[/name] are too close.

[name]Declan[/name] as a middle would be fine though.

It’s not just the initials, they start AND end with the same sounds AND have the same number of syllables. There are other D names that would work better.

As a teacher I can say close names are very hard. I mix closely named sibs up constantly and it drives kids wild
What about [name]Lachlan[/name] or [name]Cormac[/name]?
