Are these names too much together?

I must say that @dovah summed it up when she said “I’m sure only true [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] fans would notice, and they either wouldn’t care or would be jealous that you were brave enough to do it.”

I think [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Genevra[/name] sound absolutely adorable together! In reference to their individual sounds, the -na and -ra endings are different enough that they don’t set off any blatant rhyming alarms by being used together.
Regarding the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] connection, I am a huge fan, and especially love hearing about people using the many wonderful names in the series on their own children… I strongly support this and personally only consider middle name options with ties to the books. =]

[name]Even[/name] if those were your only girls I would say it was perfectly fine to do, but since you have other children as well, I don’t think those two particular names are overly strong references. As is apparent even on this thread, most people who have only been exposed by watching the movies don’t even know [name]Ginny[/name]'s full name or the first name of the founder of Ravenclaw house. Plus [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Ginny[/name] are both fantastic namesakes for young girls as well, intelligent and able to hold their own alongside the men of their respective times. I can only imagine how delighted they will be to read the series for the first time and discover the characters that share their names/ relate to those references! So I guess what I am saying is, if both you and your husband love the name, use it proudly! Good luck! =]

I never got into [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name], so I didn’t make the connection. I’d say you’d probably be ok with [name]Genevra[/name]. And I think it goes well with [name]Rowena[/name] (which I love).

I’m a true HP fan so I know, but I like it!
It’s not a bad connection and I really think it’s cute. [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Genevra[/name] are great together.

ps: I love [name]Genevra[/name] [name]Mary[/name].
