My cousin’s daughter’s name is [name]Calia[/name] (pronounced [name]Kal[/name]-ya). I have been looking at names and I think I like the name [name]Kaia[/name] (rhymes with [name]Maya[/name]) but I’m not sure if it’s too close. What does everyone else think?

When in doubt, don’t. Err on the side of caution. I choose something more distinctive.

While they would be too similar for sisters, I really don’t see the problem with it for second cousins… [name]Will[/name] the girl’s be spending a great deal of time together that it could become confusing? If not I think it would be fine 
They are very similar, but for second cousins it would be okay in my opinion. I think it would be cute, especially if they were really close.
My cousin and I had very similar names growing up and we loved it. If these kids are close, they’ll probably love it too. I don’t think you need to match your kids’ names to your cousin’s kids, though.
Thanks everyone…They will be very close. We share a nanny…and hang out a lot which is the reason I’m considering whether they’re too close or not. I can always ask her if she would be weirded out by it I guess. [name]Just[/name] thought I’d see what the consensus is.
