Are these names too similar?

Over the weekend, you can imagine how excited and surprised I was when my fiancé started talking about baby names. Our top is [name_f]Liv[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] (as most of you know!) but he said he would love the second to be named [name_f]Violet[/name_f] if we had two girls.

Are [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] too similar? I think I am overthinking it. Also - any middle name ideas for [name_f]Violet[/name_f]? I kinda like:

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]

I do not think [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are too similar, not at all. I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].

I don’t think they’re too similar to use for siblings. If you say “[name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]” the v’s definitely run together but if you say “[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f]” it sounds perfectly fine! Maybe see if you can find another name you both love instead of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and if you can’t find anything, then use [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! It’s definitely not similar enough where people would notice. :slight_smile: I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and I would like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I think they’re a bit close — it’s odd to me when there’s a 100% match between the letters, especially since “v” is so distinctive. If [name_f]Liv[/name_f]'s full name were [name_f]Livia[/name_f], it wouldn’t bother me as much.

Not too close. They seem fine.

[name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] aren’t too close for sisters at all. But if you want an alternative, what about [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

Personally I think they’re too close, [name_f]Liv[/name_f] just sounds like a cute nickname for [name_f]Violet[/name_f]…

[name_f]Liv[/name_f] looks like a NN for Liver. I know you are just trying to update [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is pretty abrupt.

Definitely not too similar! I love the name [name_f]Liv[/name_f], I have for YEARS and my love for it has only grown. I think [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is absolutely stunning and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is a good sister name. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would be much more similar but I think even that would be great!
