Are these names too similar?

Hello! I am currently writing a Hunger Games fanfiction. You don’t need to know the concept to answer, but for extra context, the career alliance is made of 6 people : 3 girls and 3 guys. The names I have so far are [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f], [name_u]Hero[/name_u], [name_m]Icarus[/name_m], Anamelia, [name_f]Siren[/name_f] and [name_m]Anchor[/name_m]. Would it be too confusing for the readers having 3 ‘A’ names, or would it be fine, providing they have different personalities and character descriptions? (it’s 2 girls and 1 boy, btw)

Not at all! Considering [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of The Rings, where the main evil guy who appears as a giant red eye and his assistant have names Sauron and Saruman respectively. I think your names are lovely and, as long as they have some character distinction, it should be just fine!

I also struggle with this. I think, as long as your characters have distinct personalities, it should be fine. Also, you’ve got a really cool set of names there🙂.

No, I think you’re fine as long as you differentiate them enough in personality; it might also help if you give one or two of the “A’s” nicknames, to help make them more unique, or to show specific bonds between characters based on who is giving the NN.

  • [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] - [name_f]Ro[/name_f], Dite
  • Anamelia - [name_f]Melia[/name_f]
  • [name_m]Anchor[/name_m] - Chor

[name_u]Or[/name_u] you know, just a NN specific to their character.
