Big sister’s name is [name]Cecilia[/name] and I find myself liking names that seem really similar to it. I am new to Nameberry and am learning a lot about people’s sibset petpeeves. So I’m wondering if these are poor choices for baby sister…
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Estella[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] ([name]Sylvie[/name])
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] (sound different, but is the same first letter a big no-no?)
Any other good ideas?!! My husband has ruled out [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] FYI
I think [name]Estella[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name], and [name]Caroline[/name] are all gorgeous with [name]Cecilia[/name]. A lot of berries are sticklers about “sibsets” and a few have the most ridiculous criteria for what can and cannot be done. I’m not one of those people. My only firm rules are that the children should sound like they were named by the same two people (as in, no [name]Araminta[/name] and [name]Madison[/name]) and sibling names should be more than one letter off from each other (as in, no [name]Hayden[/name] and [name]Jayden[/name]).
I don’t see a problem with any of these, [name]Sylvia[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] might sound too much a like, I don’t care for [name]Estella[/name] but that’s not an actual problem just personal preference, [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] is nms and I still think it’s pretty stunning and swoon worthy.
The similar sounds can get very annoying to say after a while. I speak from experiences.
[name]Caroline[/name] is a great fit, and the same letter thing is no big deal imo.
I am going to second southern maple and say all of your choices would be great. [name]Caroline[/name] is the one I would rule out because of the same first initial.
The only problem set to me is [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name]. I love [name]Sylvia[/name], but your girls will never know which one you’re calling. They just sound too similar. Try yelling all these sets together, that might help you eliminate some names
[name]Sylvia[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] is a bit of a tongue-twister, but I don’t think that any of those sib-sets are completely off limits. [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Estella[/name] in particular is amazing!
My personal favorite out of the potential names is [name]Estella[/name]. I also like how different in sound [name]Caroline[/name] is to [name]Cecilia[/name], but you maybe trapping yourself into C names. If you have a third child you might feel the odd pressure to use another C name.
