Are These Two Too Similar?

So, we really like the name [name_m]Deverell[/name_m] (Dev-uh-rehl) right now (still just narrowing down options as we’re still TTC) and I recently came across Everald. I really like it but DH pointed out that they’re really similar letter-wise (only the a in Everald isn’t used in Deverell) so does that make them too similar for brothers as first names?
We like less-used names that have sturdy meanings yet that still don’t sound stuffy or dated.

Curious to know your thoughts on this as well as siblings for them or other suggestions to go with [name_m]Deverell[/name_m].

I do find them a bit too similar, sorry! They share a lot of sounds, as well as the most intuitive nicknames (for me) being [name_m]Dev[/name_m] and Ev. Very cool names, though!

To me, they are to similar. This would be one of those scenarios, for me, where I would need to choose one or the other.

I personally think they’re too close for siblings. I’d use [name_m]Deverell[/name_m] as a first name this go around and maybe Everald for a potential sibling’s middle name

They’re not unusable but I do find them a bit too close - a bit like you’re tried to use the same letters?

Have you considered [name_m]Everard[/name_m] maybe? A slightly differently sound to differentiate them a little more?

DH doesn’t like [name_m]Everard[/name_m] due to its unfortunate high potential for teasing…at least in [name_f]America[/name_f] lol.

Yes, definitely too close. When I say them out loud they’re essentially the same name, just one with a d at the front and one with a d at the back.

I love both names, but yes, they’re too similar for siblings. Maybe make one a middle name.

Maybe. We have another E name we’ll probably use instead which is why I was hoping these weren’t too similar but that’s okay! If we go with either, it’ll be [name_m]Deverell[/name_m].
