I’m not a fan of most virtue names. For boys I quite like [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] (and also [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], which you don’t have up there, but is an old favourite of mine). The only one of the girls’ names I like is Merit. (I find most virtue names given to girls are really passive, but Merit bucks the trend, so I like it).
Boys:
[name_m]Valor[/name_m] - yes, definitely usable
[name_m]Prosper[/name_m] - yes definitely usable
[name_m]Noble[/name_m] - yes definitely usable + my favourite for a boy
[name_u]True[/name_u] - usable, better on a girl imo
Girls:
Merit - usable, but I prefer [name_f]Mirit[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] - obviously usable
[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - yes definitely usable + my favourite for a girl
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] - usable, but nms
As far as pairs go. No, just no. One virtue name is enough in any sibset. I’d go with one virtue name, and another that has a subtle virtue meaning if you are really set on it e.g. [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] & [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (which means “noble”).
Agree with syndeysmith that [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is really the only usable one. Maybe [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] as a middle; [name_f]Honora[/name_f] would be an okay middle, too. The rest are just odd to me.
I nannied a [name_m]Noble[/name_m]. His grandad had a dream that they named the baby that and it became his name as soon as he shared the dream with the parents. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that name so much.
[name_m]Valor[/name_m]- Unusable
[name_m]Prosper[/name_m]- Very usuable. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name
[name_m]Noble[/name_m]- Not usable
[name_u]True[/name_u]- Not usable
Merit (possible spelling of [name_u]Merritt[/name_u])- [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] is usable. Merit is not.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]- Usable
[name_f]Honor[/name_f]- Usable on a boy, with the Turkish name Onur. Or [name_f]Honour[/name_f] as a middle name
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f]- Usable
I know a little boy named [name_m]Valor[/name_m]! Very wearable. His brother is [name_m]Asher[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Noble[/name_m] and [name_u]True[/name_u] as well, not so much [name_m]Prosper[/name_m].
For girls, I like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Honor[/name_f] and [name_f]Mercy[/name_f]. But for [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] I’d use [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] for the same meaning.
I also know girls named [name_u]Story[/name_u] and [name_u]Fable[/name_u] and Harvest, just for some more ideas
From your choices I like [name_m]Valor[/name_m] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] the best! I think I’d give both names a longer more familiar middle name to give some balance and a timeless feel.
I’m absolutely loving [name_m]Valor[/name_m], but I dislike all the other boys names you listed. I think all the girls named you listed work nicely. I had [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] on my favourites list for a while.
I love them all. But i love word names.
I recently met a little boy named N0ble [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]. Very memorable. His name works wonderfully in the real world
I know a boy named [name_m]Noble[/name_m] and a girl named [name_u]Merritt[/name_u]. I think they’re lovely names. I probably wouldn’t pair up two virtue names so as to avoid sounding to theme-y but I wouldn’t blink at it if someone else did it
I think all of your girl options are completely usable. Very pretty. I think I like Meritt with the double T best.
As for boys, [name_m]Valor[/name_m] is the only one I can see working as a name. I’m not sure why but the others just don’t sit right to me as a label for a person.
[name_m]Valor[/name_m] - middle, otherwise it gets shortened to [name_u]Val[/name_u].
[name_m]Prosper[/name_m] - middle only, it’s too prissy sounding
[name_m]Noble[/name_m] - yes! It’s an amazing name for a boy. I had a professor whose last name was [name_m]Noble[/name_m], and who just went by “[name_m]Noble[/name_m]”, everyone thought it was his name - and a good one!
[name_u]True[/name_u] - this is typically used for a girl, unless in the middle spot.
All your girl options are usable and all are beautiful. My favourite is [name_f]Mercy[/name_f], then [name_f]Honor[/name_f]. Obviously [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is usable? It’s a top 10 name, right?
Merit
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Honor[/name_f]
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f]
For the boys I would say no, not usable.
For the girls, [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Honor[/name_f], and my favorite, [name_f]Mercy[/name_f].
Kids today are used to some pretty unusual names but imagine calling" [name_m]Noble[/name_m]! Merit! [name_m]Noble[/name_m]! Merit!" I wouldn’t do that to my child.
I think all of them are usable, definitely as middles. I absolutely adore [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] as a first, and love the idea of the other boys’ names in the middle. There are other virtue names I prefer for girls, but I think all of them are okay enough. I wouldn’t pair two virtue names together as firsts though, maybe as a link with middles, but with firsts the theme is too obvious.
I think all of the names you’ve lifted are useable, but personally I’m not a fan of them. I think for middle with a virtue name, you should definetly not use a virtue name. I know a girl named [name_f]Honour[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f], and it just seems completely ridiculous.
