Are they awful?

We are trying to narrow our list down. I really like these names, but am I crazy? Are these names awful and would it be mean to name baby girl these names?

[name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Anneliese[/name]
[name]Octavia[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]

Siblings are [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name].

[name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Anneliese[/name]
[name]Octavia[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]

No these names are not awful at all! I love all of the names except for [name]Henrietta[/name] (which might be related to knowing 2 cats named [name]Henrietta[/name]). I also think they all go nicely with your other children’s (lovely) names. If you’re looking for really different [name]Octavia[/name] is probably the most original… [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name] are not super common but not totally unheard of (and they both have nice nicknames). I love the name [name]Winifred[/name] (my great grandma’s name) and I think the nickname [name]Winnie[/name] is fabulous personally. So i think it might depend on middle names, which name YOU like the best, and the last name! [name]Do[/name] you have middles decided? Let us know!

Not crazy at all - they’re wonderful names! I do think, though, that [name]Anneliese[/name] is way too close to [name]Adelaide[/name], so I would forget about that one. [name]Octavia[/name] is probably a bit too out there next to your other children’s names. [name]Susannah[/name] is my favorite from this list, and I think it works quite well in your sibset. [name]Henrietta[/name] and [name]Winifred[/name] could also work well, though, but since you already have so many other great names you’re considering, I would probably limit it to just [name]Susannah[/name] that you add as a contender.

i absoluetly love every one of those names! and all their nicknames

They’re not awful at all. [name]Henrietta[/name] doesn’t seem dated to me, only more unusual than similar names such as [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Harriet[/name].

[name]Annaliese[/name] is a favourite of mine, unusual but pretty and relaxed, and [name]Annie[/name] is a sweet classic.

[name]Susannah[/name] is a lovely, calm, classic name, and I love all of the nns - [name]Annie[/name], [name]Susie[/name], and especially the adorable [name]Sukie[/name].

[name]Winifred[/name] isn’t my personal favourite, but it fits with the current vintage revival and the nn [name]Fred[/name] would be a spunky, quirky twist on such a vintage choice.

I actual know more than one [name]Octavia[/name], and they all love their name and how unusual it is. The lack of easy nns personally prevents me considering it, but it’s a still a great name.

Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]

Not awful at all! I love almost all the names on that list. Luckily, though they sound a bit dusty, they have great nicknames to update them and would make a great name for a little girl.

[name]Henrietta[/name] - I love this name. You might like [name]Harriet[/name] too. I love the nickname [name]Hattie[/name].

[name]Winifred[/name] - [name]Winnie[/name] is maybe one of the cutest nicknames I can think of. Another great name

[name]Anneliese[/name] - Not my favorite, but I do think this name would be a great choice. [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Lise[/name] are cool nicknames

[name]Octavia[/name] - so cool and pretty!

[name]Susannah[/name] - I love this name. I also know a few women named [name]Susannah[/name] and it fits them so well. I had two friends named [name]Susannah[/name] growing up, one went by [name]Susie[/name], the other went by Suds (no idea how that nn stuck).

You have some terrific names on this list! I like them in this order:

[name]Susannah[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it! It’s one of my ultra-favorite names
[name]Henrietta[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, but might be best as a mn
[name]Anneliese[/name] - very pretty!
[name]Octavia[/name] - very pretty!
[name]Winifred[/name] - as a mn

[name]Octavia[/name] is lovely, a consideration for our baby girl, as she was born on the eighth.

[name]Henrietta[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] - eh
[name]Anneliese[/name] - eh
[name]Octavia[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] - Aunty’s name

I think [name]Annelise[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name] go great with the sib set. [name]Henrietta[/name] sounds a bit musty to me but it’s not awful. The others are nice too.

Where do you live?
[name]Henrietta[/name] - in UK is known as a VERY posh name - almost comically so in my opinion.
[name]Winifred[/name] - not a fan sorry.
[name]Anneliese[/name] - [name]Love[/name] - this is my sister in law’s name but spelling [name]Annelise[/name]
[name]Octavia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] name
[name]Susannah[/name] - [name]Luke[/name] warm

I love [name]Octavia[/name], and the way it sounds with your other childrens’ names. This would be a great, original and classy choice.

Thanks everyone. It is really hard to pick a name!
And to the person who asked, we live in the US. I didn’t knew [name]Henrietta[/name] was a posh name in the UK!

[name]Henrietta[/name]- okay- I’m not a big fan of popular feminised male names
[name]Winifred[/name]- again, the ‘fred’ part sound v strong to me. [name]Winnie[/name] is quite sweet though!
[name]Anneliese[/name]- okay but I don’t like it so much with the sibling’s names
[name]Octavia[/name]- not keen
[name]Susannah[/name]- lovely and perfect with the sibset!

I think [name]Gwendoline[/name]/ lyn would also be perfect.

I asked if you lived in the UK ([name]Lilibet[/name]) 'cause your names have a very English flair! Fabulous!
