We are expecting our fourth (and final) baby and our second daughter! My husband and I are in love with the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f], but we’ve been told by a few friends that it’s too similar to our daughter’s name, [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are too close for sisters? Also, does [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] flow well? [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] needs to be her middle name since it honors an important family member.
If you think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Stella[/name_f], please give us a few other suggestions that you think would fit nicely with our children’s: [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u].
I don’t think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are too similar at all. Yes they both end in -la but I think the first syllable of both names are very different sounding. I know sisters named [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! I think those two names are a bit too close but the “Stel” sound in [name_f]Stella[/name_f] makes it very different to [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. Plus if you love it go for it! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] is lovely [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] adds a bit of seriousness to the cuteness of [name_f]Lila[/name_f].
I don’t think they are too close! They are both beautiful. And I agree with ellie24, the [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] adds some seriousness to [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. I actually really like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Tracy[/name_u], which is interesting because to be 100% honest I’m not too fond of the name [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] in general. But paired with [name_f]Lila[/name_f] I really like it!
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] will be said LIE-lah; that’s the only way people in our area say it; so we aren’t too worried about mispronunciations (and not too concerned with misspellings either), we just want to know if they are too close. [name_f]Lila[/name_f]'s really the only name we’ve fallen in love with after searching for so long which is why we’re finding it so important to know if [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are too close
I think they are too close when they rhyme and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] rhyme… however, I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be a find alternative.
Again, it’s a preference thing though since my nieces are [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f]
I think they sound fine together, and if nothing else you have to go with [name_f]Lila[/name_f] because its meaning complements [name_f]Stella[/name_f]'s so well: star and night! They’re perfect. (I don’t know if you did that on purpose, but good job!)
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] sibset, not too close in my opinion, actually these are 2 of my fave names. I say go for it! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Tracy[/name_u] is fine too
They are too close for my personal taste. But if you love them go for it! Its honestly not that bad, compared to sibling names like [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], [name_u]Jaden[/name_u]. They just share a similar ending sound. Which I would personally avoid but I wouldn’t think it was werid for someone else. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a tad similar.
