I love the name [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] (i would have [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]) and Kayzie (pronounced [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-[name_f]Zee[/name_f], Kayzie [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]), but would they be to close for sisters. Im not pregnant, im ttc for 1.5 years and Kayzie is a top contender if we have a girl, im not to sure if its charted (any spelling) but its quite important to me. Anyway… [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and Kayzie too close or not??
They are similar, but I think they are still usable. They sound distinct enough
I do think they are a bit too close. I guess a good test would be to call out their names like you’re calling them down for dinner or something. If the names get tangled and twisted, then they may be too similar. However, they aren’t super matchy so I think they could still work.
Hmm maybe… Does Kayzie not sound like crazy though?
Hmm. For me they would be too close, because I’m stumbling over them a bit if I try to say them together. [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and Kayzie is okay, but I find Kayzie and [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] a little tongue-twister-y. That being said, I tend to prefer sibling names to sound pretty distinct from each other, which is totally just a personal preference! If they’re both important to you, you should absolutely do what feels right to you
I dont think it sounds crazy, its part of my mums name ([name_u]Kay[/name_u]) and part of my MILs name ([name_f]Zee[/name_f]). me and my dh like it. [name_u]Kenzie[/name_u], [name_f]Kasie[/name_f], [name_u]Kacey[/name_u] there all quite popular names, they sound similar. Is it really that crazy tho? We have been looking at Kayzie or Kazie, i just think kayzie looks quite nice imo.
Kayzie/Kazie is quite important to me and my dh, zadie, not so much. Its so annoying, almost all of my favourite names include a “Z”!
I don’t think it sounds crazy, I just think sounds like the word “crazy” but if you like it go for it!
I think they’re different enough that it could work, but only just— they sit right on that fuzzy, kind of unclear border between “too similar” and “different enough” for me. That said, I don’t think they’re unusable as siblings at all— I say go for it!
As a side note, I absolutely love [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and Kayzie, while totally new to me, is bright and fun!
I like similar sounding names in siblings Me and my sisters all have names that end in the ee sound. I think Kayzie and [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] are distinct enough that they could be sisters
I do think they’re too close. Makes me sad because I love [name_f]Zadie[/name_f]!
The sentiment with Kayzie is super sweet. Personally I’d probably save it as a middle name though. I do agree with the pp who said that Kayzie might be misheard as “crazy” or maybe even “katie.”

It’s not a “crazy” name but I’d probably mishear it as the word “crazy”
I think they’re a tongue twister together, unfortunately.
I think they’re a little too similar for me
They’re too similar for sisters to me, too. Maybe put one as a middle name for a sister. I love [name_f]Zadie[/name_f], and while I understand Kayzie is important to you, it’s too close to the word “crazy.” I also think people will misunderstand her name to be [name_u]Kacey[/name_u]/Casey. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] Kayzie flows really well, though. Then you could do [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] for another girl.
