My DH and I are expecting our first in 2017. We decided to avoid finding out the gender, to allow life to surprise us a bit. If it’s a girl, we have decided on ‘[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] Sharum’ which gives nod to both family names and our love for timeless and beautiful girl names.
But the boy names are a different story.
He prefers historical multi-syllable names, often [name_u]Greek[/name_u] or [name_m]Roman[/name_m]: [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u]
I prefer early 1900’s timeless names: [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Johnathan[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
We are both lukewarm on ‘[name_m]Archer[/name_m]’ or ‘[name_m]Sagan[/name_m]’ - names unique enough, but not too difficult for pronunciation or spelling. But with a last name Sharum, it’s difficult to find one that rolls off the tongue and doesn’t end in ‘-um’ ‘-an’ or ‘-am’.
My favorites from your lists are [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I’d like to recommend [name_m]Clayton[/name_m] and [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m].
