Area popularity

I just assessed the names of little ones I know in my area and I was actually surprised by what I found!

The E- names reigned supreme amongst both boys and girls! 18 recent little ones have E-names!

Here are the most popular names from the last couple years:

Boys:
[name]Elijah[/name] - 3
[name]Gabriel[/name] - 3
[name]Liam[/name] - 3
[name]Aiden[/name]/[name]Aidan[/name] - 2
[name]Noah[/name] - 2
[name]Caleb[/name] -2

Girls:
[name]Ella[/name] ([name]Ella[/name], Ellanor, [name]Eliana[/name], [name]Elaina[/name], [name]Isabella[/name])- 8!
[name]Chloe[/name] - 3
[name]Evie[/name] ([name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Evangelia[/name]) - 3
[name]Leah[/name]/[name]Lia[/name] ([name]Leah[/name], [name]Mahalia[/name])- 3
[name]Lily[/name]/[name]LilyAnn[/name] - 3
[name]Lael[/name] - 2
[name]Maddie[/name] ([name]Madeline[/name]) - 2
[name]Mary[/name] - 2

The girls had a lot of variation in official names with a ton of overlapping nicknames; this sure makes it difficult to really assess the popularity of girls’ names! It seems like any girl with an [name]El[/name]- name or with -ella somewhere in it goes by either [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Ella[/name]. Because most of them have different full names, I didn’t realize there were that many little Ellas running around!
