We’re due in 13 weeks and have narrowed our list down to [name_u]Ara[/name_u]/[name_u]Ari[/name_u] names. At first my husband liked [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and I liked [name_f]Ariella[/name_f]- now we’re kind of switched and I still haven’t written off [name_f]Arianna[/name_f], but it sounds almost too conventional for our tastes. Are there any other names out there that can be shortened to [name_u]Ari[/name_u] that we’ve missed?
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Arcadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
[name_f]Arissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Arletta[/name_f]
[name_f]Artemisia[/name_f]
[name_u]Arya[/name_u]
Good luck!
I like:
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] (I find it more fresh and underused than [name_f]Arianna[/name_f])
[name_f]Artemisia[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Araceli[/name_f] - like with [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], I love the musical lilt the -ee ending gives it.
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f] and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] are pretty though.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t forget [name_f]Aria[/name_f]
Aristaia
[name_f]Arista[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] is perfect. It can be [name_u]Ari[/name_u] or [name_u]Ara[/name_u]. (Or [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Ria[/name_f], [name_f]Rella[/name_f]…)

What about [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] I know a girl with the name she says it Arr-ee-arn but I’ve heard arr-ee-anne for it too. Its a bet less popular then [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]/[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]
I think all the obvious choices have been given. So here are less obvious choices that are similar.
Instead of the [name_u]Ari[/name_u] beginning how about Ar? Such as [name_u]Arden[/name_u].
Since you like [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] how about the iana ending? Such as Liviana, [name_f]Juliana[/name_f].
I’m seconding the [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] name. It’s one of my favorites, it’s actually not in the top 1000 and it’s beautiful. I also love the [name_u]Ari[/name_u] nickname
Another name could be [name_m]Aries[/name_m], but meh.
My grandmother was [name_f]Ardis[/name_f]. I also love [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
Arienne
Ariasta
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
Or just plain, simple and beautiful, [name_u]Ari[/name_u].
