I’m finding myself drawn to [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] at the moment. I guess it’s similar to our style including [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] & [name_m]Albie[/name_m]. We have an [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and I’m adding to my girls list at the moment. I’d love to know thoughts on the name. Thank you!
I rather like it. It’s certainly unusual, the only one I have come across is Australian actress [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] Whiteley, daughter of the artist [name_u]Brett[/name_u] Whiteley. Is it used more outside Australia? Anyway, a ‘yes’ from me.
I kind of like it too, reminds me of the more ancient name [name_f]Arcadia[/name_f]/Arkadia which comes across as mysterious, intriguing and slightly mystical to me.
Honestly, not a big fan. It sounds like what you’d call someone from Arkansas who moved to [name_u]California[/name_u] in the 30s (because it reminds me of Okie), and it feels like a nickname despite not being one as far as I can tell. I like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] a lot more.
edit: didn’t see lovelace’s post when I posted this, but I like [name_f]Arcadia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] a lot more than [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] by itself.
Thanks for your responses! I’m not sure if it is popular outside if Australia but I’ve heard of two little girls called [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] this year.
I agree with @greta-elizabeth, my first thought was Arkansas. [name_f]Arcadia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Arkie[/name_f] is nice.
