We keep considering alternatives for our choice, [name_f]Lula[/name_f]. One I came across yesterday that I’m really loving is [name_f]Arla[/name_f]. The middle name in either case will be [name_f]Marite[/name_f]. I do love [name_f]Lula[/name_f] but I keep hesitating because I want her to have something more grown up and elegant when she’s older, if she wants it. We seem to like short, unusual names that end in A for this one. Big sister is [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] [name_f]Avalyn[/name_f]. I can picture a grown woman named [name_f]Lula[/name_f], but is [name_f]Arla[/name_f] a better choice? Ahh!
I think [name_f]Lula[/name_f] matures great. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] to me seems very old and not suitable for a child or teenager.
Another one I’ve been liking is [name_f]Perla[/name_f]…
[name_f]Arla[/name_f] is lovely and I think it is sweet for a little girl but will age well too. I also really like it with [name_f]Zadie[/name_f]. They have the same level of uniqueness and dignity.
[name_f]Tallula/name_f is the only more formal name to get [name_f]Lula[/name_f]. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is pretty, or [name_f]Orla[/name_f], an Irish name meaning “golden” if I recall correctly.
Not a fan of [name_f]Lula[/name_f]. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is slightly better.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Darla[/name_f]? I also like [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lula[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Arla[/name_f], and I know a girl named [name_f]Arla[/name_f]. She’s my age (college age) and loves her name and it suits her really well.
[name_f]Arla[/name_f] is a pretty name.
[name_f]Lula[/name_f] is short for any ‘[name_f]Lu[/name_f]’ name, like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], or even [name_f]Luna[/name_f], which is so close to [name_f]Lula[/name_f] you could just choose it instead.
[name_f]Luella[/name_f] is one way to get [name_f]Lula[/name_f], and I like the name [name_f]Luella[/name_f]. It’s sweet, vintage, unique, also has the popular nickname [name_f]Ella[/name_f] that she could choose if she wanted. I think [name_f]Luanne[/name_f] is similarly sweet and vintage. I know a [name_f]Luanne[/name_f] who is sweet and beautiful. [name_f]Lumina[/name_f] might be nice.
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lumina[/name_f]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Luanne[/name_f]
Another way to use [name_f]Lula[/name_f] as a nickname is use a double barreled first name with [name_u]Lou[/name_u].
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
I’ve never seen it before, but I’m liking it. It reminds me of [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] but feels distinctly feminine, and it’s short/sweet but complete. And I think it works really well with [name_f]Zadie[/name_f]. [name_f]Lula[/name_f] feels more like a nickname to me (and distinctly really girly, while [name_f]Arla[/name_f] feels more versatile).
I think [name_f]Lula[/name_f] matures just fine on its own. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is nice, but, right or wrong, I instinctively see it as a way to modernize [name_f]Arlene[/name_f], or feminize [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. I agree that I prefer [name_f]Orla[/name_f] personally, but [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is intriguing. I like [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Orla[/name_f] together best, but [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lula[/name_f] would be my second choice, and then [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Arla[/name_f].
Good luck!
Sorry but [name_f]Arla[/name_f] sounds incomplete to me - I much prefer [name_f]Carla[/name_f], which isn’t very common. Or [name_f]Alana[/name_f] is nice. [name_f]Perla[/name_f] lacks something too. My suggestions are:
[name_f]CARLA[/name_f] [name_f]MARITE[/name_f]
[name_f]ALANA[/name_f] [name_f]MARITE[/name_f]
I’m not a fan of '-arla names ([name_f]Darla[/name_f], [name_f]Carla[/name_f], [name_f]Marla[/name_f], etc.), as I always picture a large, round woman. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is better, and it beats [name_f]Lula[/name_f], but honestly, I still get that image.
I like [name_f]Arla[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. Both are great choices.
I prefer [name_f]Lula[/name_f] and think it will age perfectly well! It gives a sweet vibe for a child but also can feel more sophisticated spunky for an adult. [name_f]Arla[/name_f] is nice too but [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is great!
I prefer [name_f]Lula[/name_f] to [name_f]Arla[/name_f], I just find it prettier and more unique. I love [name_f]Perla[/name_f] though, even more than [name_f]Lula[/name_f]. [name_f]Perla[/name_f] and [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] sound fabulous as sisters!
