What do the berries think of [name_m]Arley[/name_m] for a girl? I’m considering her for a middle name, but thoughts on her in general are welcome. [name_f]She[/name_f] means “hare meadow” which I love (I was looking for a name related to rabbits).
I think my issue is that she doesn’t pair with my first name contenders… [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], Rosa/Rosalina/Primrose/Rosalind, [name_f]Perla[/name_f], Selena/Celina/Serena, and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. I actually love [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], but there’s no Spanish connection there.
[name_f]Any[/name_f] thoughts??

I think it’s charming, I know many will think it’s too trendy, but I think it’s cute. It sounds lovely with [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].
I’m a bit confused on the last part. Is it that Rosalind/Primrose [name_m]Arley[/name_m] have no Spanish connection as a whole name?
Thank you! I agree that she is charming. You’re right, I meant that [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] as whole combos, don’t really reflect the distinctly Spanish/Italian adjacent vibes we have going on as a family. But they sound the best with [name_m]Arley[/name_m] I think, so I’m a bit stuck there
Ah, I see, I didn’t realize you had a pre-existing theme/vibe. I don’t know much about Spanish or Italian names, and I don’t know if you’re looking for suggestions, but here’s my best try.
- Viola Arely
- Bianca Arely
- Chiara Arely
- Lucia Arely
- Reina Arely
- Deya Arely
And for the record, I think Isla Arely is charming!

Sounds like someone dropping the “H” off of [name_m]Harley[/name_m].

[name_m]The[/name_m] sound is pretty, but that spelling imo is a little more harsh. I think the spelling [name_m]Arlie[/name_m] or [name_f]Arli[/name_f] softens it :)

It feels to masculine. [name_f]Arlia[/name_f] would be lovely though

I’ve only seen/heard this name on Hispanic girls and women, so seeing it paired with a name like [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], etc actually makes perfect sense to me. It’s usually spelled [name_f]Arely[/name_f] though. Behind the [name_f]Name[/name_f] is saying it’s a contraction of [name_f]Araceli[/name_f].

I worried about that too. Or worse… barley!
I prefer a longer name with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] personally, but I do like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] a lot!

[name_f]Arlia[/name_f] is pretty!
This is so interesting to know, thank you! [name_m]The[/name_m] issue with the Spanish names is that usually they end with an -a, and obviously [name_m]Arley[/name_m] starts with an A. I actually do have [name_f]Araceli[/name_f] on my list, although it has an entirely different meaning.
I love [name_m]Arley[/name_m] - it reminds me of [name_m]Farley[/name_m], [name_m]Marley[/name_m], [name_f]Beverley[/name_f], [name_m]Barley[/name_m], [name_f]Bailey[/name_f], [name_m]Hartley[/name_m], [name_m]Oakley[/name_m], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] - all these old [name_f]English[/name_f] nature/place names.
I see your struggle about pairing her with an -a name. [name_m]The[/name_m] flow slightly depends on the name - [name_f]Perla[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] for example works less well than [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], because of the syllable count and proximity of the L-sounds. [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure I have a solution but I am enthusiastic about [name_m]Arley[/name_m] in general!

I like [name_m]Arley[/name_m] – earthy, interesting, and cheerful.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] are really lovely – naturey and balanced. I also like the sounds of [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m]
maybe the -a A- doesn’t bother me so much?
Something like [name_m]Rosario[/name_m] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Marisol[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Damaris[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] Arley/ [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] Arley… to break up some of the sounds?? [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure. As i say, i like it with some of your options.

I like the proximity to [name_m]Marley[/name_m], [name_m]Oakley[/name_m] etc. as well! I was worried about [name_m]Barley[/name_m] though… good to know not everyone’s put off by it haha. [name_f]Perla[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] does have better flow than some others on the list.
thank you! I realized after posting that [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] was a contender I accidentally left off the list. I think she does go with [name_m]Arley[/name_m] better than some of the others. Of your other suggestions, I enjoy [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], and I really enjoy the bouncy sound of [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m]

I agree that [name_m]Arley[/name_m] works best with [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], but I don’t mind her with [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]! I’m actually quite fond of [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m], tbh. I don’t think the shorter first names with an R work (Rosa [name_m]Arley[/name_m], [name_f]Perla[/name_f] Arley), but [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] is sweet! I like [name_f]Hadley[/name_f] and [name_f]Adley[/name_f] more than [name_m]Arley[/name_m] myself, but she does have a wonderful meaning!
(Paloma [name_m]Arley[/name_m] sounds just as good as [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] Arley—I just like [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] more than [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], so obvious prejudice going on in my response here lol)
Otherwise, I think you’d either have to add a short Spanish second middle (like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_m]Arley[/name_m] Luz?), or look for Spanish names not ending in A, like [name_f]Ines[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Amparo[/name_f], [name_f]Anabel[/name_f], [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f], [name_f]Carmen[/name_f], [name_f]Dafne[/name_f], etc.
Good luck!
