Arlo. Horribly ugly?

[name]One[/name] of my favorite boys names!!! I love love love [name]Arlo[/name].

You know what… I think [name]Arlo[/name] is so awkward that it’s amazing.
So yes, so horribly ugly that is way chic. I think it could really work well on a real live boy/man.
I would consider it very usable with the [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Theo[/name], -o ending names.

(I should probably point out that awkward is my favorite word because well look at it, it’s just awkward and I love ugly chic things).

No! Not horrible or ugly! If i have a son i’d call him [name]Arlo[/name] in a heartbeat, i absolutely love it. Its got a lots of great qualities but mostly i like it because when i picture a little [name]Arlo[/name], i picture a really lovely, sweet-natured boy.

I see nothing wrong with [name]Arlo[/name]. It sounds handsome and is easy to say and spell. I’m sorry your Mom hates it. I understand feeling like maybe it’s not the right name.

I love [name]Arlo[/name]! It starts with the letter A, which is hot right now, and also has the same ending as [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Leo[/name]. It’s a great way to go if you want something that’s easy to say and spell but not common. I think it fits well with [name]Kael[/name], another name that shares something in common with current favorites without actually being one of the trendier names of the moment.

I think [name]Arlo[/name] is a great name. Only reason it’s not on my boys’ list is because it sounds terrible with our last name. Your mom will love the name more once she meets the adorable person who will be attached to it!

I feel I should say tho, when discussing names with a friend, she said that [name]Arlo[/name] sounds like a cat name. Now, to be fair, she named her cats [name]Hunter[/name] and [name]Harley[/name], which to me sound like people names. So to each her own.

This.

For what it’s worth, [name]Arlo[/name] is way better than [name]Kael[/name] in my opinion.

I think it’s adorable! Cute, peppy, spunky. short and ot the point, much like [name]Kael[/name]. I think it’s great. If you like it, use it. She will come around to the name eventually, seeing as it will belong to her grandson.

Your mom had her opportunity to name her own child/children, and now you have the opportunity to name your children. This is not your mother’s decision, and honestly I think you should toss her opinion into the garbage bin. I personally don’t like the name [name]Arlo[/name], but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the name. If it’s the name you and your husband love and the name that you envision your son owning and loving, then name him [name]Arlo[/name].

i think it is such a great name, it has a bit of spunk.
if you love it, stick with it, parents will come around!

It’s a wonderful name. [name]Don[/name]'t listen to your mom. My mom hated my daughter’s name too–even though we didn’t tell her the name till the baby was born and the social security forms signed, she still tried to get us to change it and would sneer everytime she used the name for months afterwards. But now that she has bonded with our daughter, three years later she not only loves it but brags to other grandmothers about the name. [name]Don[/name]'t worry–she’ll come to love it as soon as it’s her grandson’s name. And you are making a beautiful choice–stay strong!

Haha, this must be the modern equivalent of not being able to find pens and souvenir keychains with your name on it. Which, by the way, was my life as a “[name]Bridget[/name].” If they did have it, it was spelled wrong.

Having said that, it’s great to have a unique name and that is a small price to pay. [name]Arlo[/name] is amazing. Cute and familiar but totally fresh. No matter what name you pick, someone is going to hate it. Go with what you love.
