Does [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] work as an honor name for [name_m]Charles[/name_m]? We are trying to honor my late father named [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and are really struggling
[name_m]Hayes[/name_m] is one of our top choices but struggle with the sound and flow of [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] plus it sounds so much like [name_u]Ray[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] to me. I’ve seen the name [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] listed a few times as a way to honor [name_m]Charles[/name_m] but worry it’s too far of a stretch? We don’t want to use [name_m]Charles[/name_m] as a first name since my dad was a jr and always bothered he didn’t have “his own name” so would like to either use it as a middle or find a name that honors [name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
Or
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m]
Or
[name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]?
[name_f]IMO[/name_f] getting from [name_m]Charles[/name_m] to [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is not very intuitive, but I get how it can be derived from [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. Out of all the options I would go with [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. You can always use [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] as a nickname!
I think it could work. [name_m]Carlo[/name_m] might be another option!
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] and [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] are great!!
I definitely think it works! So much of [name_m]Charles[/name_m]’ sound is there. If I heard of an [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] having a grandfather named [name_m]Charles[/name_m] I’d assume [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] was an honor name.
My favorite combo is [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m].
What about [name_m]Hayes Charlston[/name_m]?
I think it would work but [name_f]Lola[/name_f] & [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] together are quite similar, I know a young [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], also there’s the dinosaur & Gutherie. Maybe [name_m]Chuck[/name_m]? Or just as a middle honestly is clearest… Your other boys have short names… Maybe [name_m]Chad[/name_m]?
Of from your sig [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]?
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I don’t know. It’s a bit of a stretch. [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is a great name though. And even though it’s a little close in sound to [name_f]Lola[/name_f], I think that it fits in really well style wise w/your crew.
What about [name_m]Carlo[/name_m]? Or [name_m]Carl[/name_m]? [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Carlo[/name_m] or [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] sound fine. I like [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Carlo[/name_m] the most. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that [name_u]Chase[/name_u] or [name_m]Chance[/name_m] are maybe closer for honor names? [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_u]Chase[/name_u] is good, & I love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Chance[/name_m]. This all being said, I think that [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] sounds just fine.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
It’s hard because although I really like [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] I can see what you mean about the flow having two one syllable names … it’s not unusable it just depends how much it bothers you.
Personally I really like [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], and it’s a nice subtle honour name in the middle. Otherwise I also don’t mind the suggestion of [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] [name_m]Charleston[/name_m].
