Arlo vs Arlington, What do you think?

I’ve been crushing on [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] now for a few months on and off. Its short, sweet, yet quirky and masculine. I mentioned it to my fiance and for once he had a strong opinion of liking it.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you guys like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]? Is it usable on a real life child? Any middle name suggestions? I’ve also thought about [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] nn [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] but I thought that might be a little much, though [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] is actually my fiance’s great grandfathers name.

My favorite combos so far have been [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]) [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], though I’m not loving any of them.

Thank you in advance!

I’m a big believer in/lover of family names so I love the idea of using [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] nn [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] after your fiance’s great-grandfather but I know family names aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I also tend to prefer longer names with nicknames rather than just nicknames and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] has a pretty nickname-y vibe to it, though it certainly stands well on its own. I think it fits in with the [name_m]Leo[/name_m]/[name_m]Milo[/name_m]/[name_m]Marco[/name_m]/[name_u]Theo[/name_u] crowd while still being distinctive and a bit different. I like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] a lot but I love [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] “[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]”. [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] sounds very sophisticated and strong while [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is a bit softer and spunkier so it’s a nice mix.

I like the simplicity of [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], but I love that [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] is a family name and that would make me choose it!

I prefer [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]! It’s a nod to his grandfather but also his own name
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] are brilliant

[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is a great name! It definitely works for a child. [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is my favorite combination. I also like that [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] would honor your fiance’s great-grandfather. [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] is actually a very interesting choice!

I don’t think [name_m]Arlington[/name_m] is too much at all. It fits right in with the Remingtons. And the nn [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] for it is just adorable. I love it. It’s been one of my favs for a while and it’s in my sig

I actually have an [name_u]Arlington[/name_u] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. I suggest going with an O middle name as well; you can get to [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] much easier. [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_u]Arlington[/name_u] was [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] for awhile, but he’s 10 now and much much prefers to just be [name_u]Arlington[/name_u].
