I found a baby blanket that I feel in love with a few weeks ago that has arrows on it. I just had to have it for this little guy. Anyway, anytime I think of him now, all I think of is arrows. We are still undecided on a name but know for sure that his middle name will be [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. Other than [name_m]Archer[/name_m], are there any suggestions for names that would go along with the idea of arrows?
Some of these might be a stretch, but you may consider:
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] (the feathers on arrows are called fletchings)
[name_u]Robin[/name_u]
Teller (a reference to [name_m]William[/name_m] Tell)
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m]
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_u]Paris[/name_u]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] (all 3 references to mythological archers)
Hopefully something here will help! Good luck!
There’s always the Finnish name [name_m]Aro[/name_m]. According to BtN, it’s said more like [name_m]AH[/name_m]-roe and not [name_f]AIR[/name_f]-row, but [name_m]Aro[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is seriously cool, and does seem quite reminiscent of arrows. Plus, I suppose you could say it like “arrow” if you wished.
Otherwise, I’ve pretty much got nothing–@bellisaurusrex had some pretty great ideas. I especially love [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Bowen[/name_m], [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], and [name_u]Orion[/name_u]!
Or even [name_u]Bo[/name_u]? [name_u]Bo[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is so, so handsome, and sort of references arrows. You could do [name_u]Beau[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], too, but I think [name_u]Bo[/name_u] looks visually more similar to “bow” (and arrows).
Good luck!
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] is an old occupational surname for the craftsmen who made arrows.
[name_m]Bowman[/name_m] might be too literal or too surname-y for you, but it could be shortened to the cute and popular [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] if you were into it.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is the patron saint of archers in Catholicism…but he’s often portrayed tied to tree and shot with arrows, a predicament from which he was rescued and healed…but yeah. Maybe?
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] Hood/[name_u]Robin[/name_u] of Locksley would be a fun namesake for a little dude. [name_m]Rob[/name_m] or [name_u]Robbie[/name_u] are good nickname options.
In the same vein, [name_m]William[/name_m] Tell is another folk hero famed for his archery skills. [name_m]William[/name_m] would make for a very subtle nod to your theme.
That’s all I’ve got for you. Some are a quite a stretch. Good luck!
I went with fictional archers, names that mean arrow, or old west sounding names. I like [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] itself. Sorry for repeats!
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_m]Hunt[/name_m]
[name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_m]Theron[/name_m]
[name_u]Chase[/name_u]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
Orvar
Yumi
Yumiko
[name_m]Ivor[/name_m]
[name_u]Bo[/name_u]
[name_m]Bowie[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Eros[/name_m]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_u]Paris[/name_u]
Everdeen
[name_m]Link[/name_m]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u]
Hawkeye
[name_m]Clint[/name_m]
[name_m]Cliff[/name_m]
[name_m]Errol[/name_m]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
Croft
[name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_m]Silvan[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m]
[name_m]Rambo[/name_m]
Legolas
Greenleaf
[name_m]Whistler[/name_m]
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]
[name_m]Flint[/name_m]
[name_u]Bret[/name_u]
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
[name_u]West[/name_u]
[name_m]Forest[/name_m]
[name_m]Huck[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u]
[name_m]Boone[/name_m]
[name_m]Crockett[/name_m]
[name_m]Colt[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]
There is a DC hero who goes by “the [name_u]Green[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]” and has a current TV series just called “[name_m]Arrow[/name_m]” and his name is [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_f]Queen[/name_f]? So if you went with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]…
[name_m]Kyler[/name_m] means bowman or archer, apparently…
I think [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] sounds great, although some may recognize the similarity to [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (vocalist for band Twenty One [name_m]Pilots[/name_m]) which I don’t think is a bad thing at all, but others may…
[name_m]Arrow[/name_m] itself could be a good name for your little guy. There’s also [name_m]Knight[/name_m]. PPs have made some great suggestions- I especially love [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] of course. The blanket will be such a cute story to tell him about someday.
