Arthur or Charles?

Thoughts?

I’m leaning towards [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].
Husband likes [name_m]Charles[/name_m].

Thanks

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] for the reasons I mentioned on the other thread. It feels more versatile than [name_m]Charles[/name_m], which I like ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u] too), but not as much as [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. I can only imagine [name_m]Charles[/name_m] on one sort of person, whereas [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] has a more varied image.

Thanks myosotis. Apologies for the two posts that are so similar. I’m just keen to get onto agreeing on a name!

I prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] feels stuffy to me.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is ok, but a bit old and overused.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. [name_m]Charles[/name_m]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is everywhere these days, especially with girls named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] going by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (like my new baby niece!)

I slighlty prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] because I love Arthurian legends.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m], definitely! I feel [name_m]Charles[/name_m]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is a bit overused and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is really fresh. I also love the nicknames [name_m]Art[/name_m] and [name_m]Artie[/name_m].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! I greatly prefer it over [name_m]Charles[/name_m], for the same reasons as previous posters

If you don’t want people to call him [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], I would go for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. But honestly, I like both. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] sounds perhaps a little more formal. But both are classic, strong names.

I love [name_m]Charles[/name_m], especially with the nickname [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. I’m not particularly fond of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].

I like both but slightly prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m].

[name_m]Charles[/name_m]. It has the flexibility to be both young and fun with nicknames [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]/[name_m]Chuck[/name_m]/[name_m]Huck[/name_m], but supremely buttoned up when necessary.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] just feels crusty and boring to me. Plus, I hate the nickname options.

I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] better, but I’ve always had a fondness for it.

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] so much! Immediate association with Arthurian legends which is really cool. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] feels older to me - I think of [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]

Much prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] to [name_m]Charles[/name_m] - [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is old-man-ish to me. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is very popular where I come from, although the nickname [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is cool.

I really like both but, if I had to choose…[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] would be it! I think [name_m]Artie[/name_m] would be a cute nickname

For years I just didn’t see the appeal, and then I recently saw the new [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] movie, and I totally get it! I don’t think I’m ready to use it up front, but I do find myself liking it more and more as a middle. I think I’m going [name_m]Charles[/name_m], though–I love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] feels absolutely timeless to me. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] I can see using; [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] I’m not sure I’m quite there yet.

Good luck!

I don’t really like [name_m]Charles[/name_m], but I like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. If you aren’t going to use that nn though, my choice would be [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].

I love both! [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is more classic, while [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is more unexpected.
