I love both of these names a lot, Archer for a while and Arthur more recently. They’re both really warm and stately I find. What I love most about Archer is the nickname Archie , while I can’t find a nickname for Arthur that I love ( Artie , Art , Ari ). I love that Arthur means Bear , which could actually be a lovely nickname.
Any other nicknames for Arthur you can think of? What makes you love one more than the other?
Oh [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is my favourite name! I love how handsome, solid, yet gentle it feels! Such a classic that’s never out of fashion. I just love it so much I like the nickname [name_m]Art[/name_m], but prefer it without nicknames! [name_m]Bear[/name_m] is a cute one too
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! I love that connection to the myth and ideas of chivalry. I love [name_m]Artie[/name_m] as nickname but if you can’t be convinced you could call him [name_m]Bear[/name_m] for a nickname too.
[name_u]Archer[/name_u] feels less dazzling to me, and I’m not sure I love the connection to a weapon (despite my love of the archery sport!)
I definitely like [name_u]Archer[/name_u] more especially the nickname Archie,I personally find [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] too old fashioned,I always think of Kelly’s father [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] from The
[name_m]King[/name_m] of Queens🙈
I love the classic, rugged [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. It has a solid feel whilr also still feeling adventurous! I think [name_m]Bear[/name_m] or even [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] could be cute nicknames or perhaps [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
I like them both, but [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is just so cuddly…maybe it’s the bear thing! [name_u]Archer[/name_u] is nice & stately like you said, but I feel like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a better balance of distinguished & charming. [name_u]Archer[/name_u] feels a bit harsher to me, even though [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is sweet. I don’t love [name_m]Art[/name_m] or [name_m]Artie[/name_m] either. I do love love love [name_u]Ari[/name_u], but not as a nn for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] for some reason. Maybe because I just feel like that ‘t’ should be in there. Anyway, what about the nn [name_m]Ace[/name_m]?
I voted [name_u]Archer[/name_u]. I am not fond of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and find it the go-to name for parents here looking for old fashioned names so it’s become even more bleh to me.
I prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] because of how classic it is and how warm it sounds. I also don’t think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] necessarily needs a nickname. However, [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m] is adorable!
I like them both a lot! But I lean slightly toward [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], because it also makes me think of [name_m]King[/name_m] Arthur/Camelot!
I love [name_m]Bear[/name_m] as a nickname. You also might have nickname options based on the middle name – like AJ for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
I really like both these names, and I do like how classically handsome [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is. However, I run into the same problem as you with nicknames, so (personally) I would be more inclined to use [name_u]Archer[/name_u].
I never realized how similar these names were until I just said them out loud together!
I’m a fan of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], but that’s because it’s more my style. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is much more vintage feeling. [name_u]Archer[/name_u] is more modern feeling.
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] stands the test of time a bit more and I think [name_m]Bear[/name_m] is a great nickname! It’s unexpected but not too out there. [name_u]Archer[/name_u] nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is nice as well, but the royal baby makes it feel a bit plain.
